Not in the morning they don't. Erm, well, you know, unless you just add a little go-faster to your coffee and then taper it with some nitrous, smooth out the undertow with a little resin and then huff whatever's to hand. Sounds pretty good then, at least until lunch.
Someone pointed out...

Guess you never heard "I Wonder U" by Prince!
Sounds like a ripoff to me too, but technically not infringement. Then again, I don't think Blurred Lines was a ripoff, yet it was deemed infringement. It's all subjective I guess. Either way, better to have your name on the rights, than not.
I think you get out of it what you put into it. Dedication to the art, the craft, whatever way you want to express yourself. No free ride that I know of. Whether you trained classically, or taught yourself by mashing stuff up on a computer, consistently satisfying music that tells a story and moves listeners probably isn't going to fall from the sky into your lap. But then, if you just want to have fun making music, that's also a great option to have.
When I was young, I put countless hours of time into becoming a musician. There's also a limiting factor of innate talent. Now I'm into the fun of it for myself---no commitments, no deadlines, no competitions. I'll use any shortcut available to making music. Like singing into a mic, you can just as well make music tapping notes into a piano roll.
Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones going after people for infringement is the epitome of rich. In the "oh, that is rich" sense.
^ ....and looking around the table the pigs had become men and the men had become pigs and no longer could the difference between them be seen....

Yeah but it's Zeppelin that's defending against such accusations; not the other way around.
The Zep case is a money grab. Lots of songs are made up of similar parts and in this case it is not even note for note the same and its only a small section of the song. The whole case is a travesty. Even if Zep did get the idea from Spirit unless the passage is note for note the same a law suit should have never been put on the table.
Just imagine if this kind of case came to EDM where everyone is using loops and arpeggiators ... music making would come to a stand still.
One of the saddest cases was that over Men at Work’s significant international hit “Down Under”.
