Ha now I don't feel so bad. At first I felt like ALL programmed music was cheating! Not so much anymore, it's about the final result right?
Still, I feel a bit guilty using some apps, scale locks, and midi etc...but it sounds great and is fun as hell so who cares!? Hurray for music!!
Yes! Tanpura or Stingray Bass. Arp on, Quant Only, 1/16. Makes me feel like I can really play something.
I get that with Samplr, every time. Feels like composting at times, no matter what you feed it etc.
The other one was Egoist which lives in the cloud now. The random function never felt very random, more like sugar bytes programming stuff to make you feel better about your creative capabilities.
Of course Gadget's piano roll is pretty good with drawing random bass lines or arpeggios that often end up in the final mix.
