Hi guys, thanks for the interest and kind words – much appreciated. Happy to share my current thoughts on this, if you’re OK with that. On the topics raised so far…

AudioBus support, as this is the AB forum  The app is written entirely in Swift using (mostly) AVFoundation and I’m still trying to get my head round what might be involved here and how AVFoundation might evolve – it certainly needs to IMHO! Maybe TAAE2 will be a more powerful / straightforward alternative for the under-the-hood stuff, so rest assured, I’m keeping a close eye on how that develops too.

MIDI support – this is on my list for sure! I really like the idea of using the generative engine to drive other MIDI synths. And adding Link support kinda goes hand in hand with that to my mind. I also think this is the better way to go in terms of supporting different musical scales and keys etc., as in its current form, moodscaper is a sample / loop based “instrument”, hence the fixed keys / scales for each “mood”.

Future updates and the like… I don’t think this app will ever be “finished” so please don’t judge the app based on what’s not there yet  I quite like adding small(ish) digestible bits of functionality in frequent updates. I’m also getting great ideas from existing users – triple loopers was a feature request for example, and I couldn’t live without that now even though I thought it would be too confusing. Maybe it is, but I kinda like when I’m not entirely sure what the app is doing! Anyway, I don’t want to be holed-up for months working on a major update, only to find that I’ve been working on stuff that nobody wants or would find useful – please tell me what you want from the app.

For the foreseeable, I don’t plan on adding IAPs. Also, contrary to my initial plans, I don’t plan on doing a separate “Pro” / iPad version. Right now, I’m working on making moodscaper a “universal” app and if I may say, it’s shaping-up quite nicely  This will be a free update to existing users, and the price will stay the same. Once I’ve got something (hopefully) interesting to share, I’ll post something on the YouTube channel.

Cheers guys, and thanks for the interest. -Rob

Took me a while to find it in my purchase history because the app is not universal yet and results on iPad only show iPad apps until you switch search to iPhone.

    Anyway, glad i could help.

  • @moodscaper Thanks for coming by and for outlining your current thinking. Always good to hear from the horse's mouth etc. It's an interesting app and I'm glad to have it, but the addition of IAA is HUGE (for me). Suddenly it's no longer a noise generator I might file my toenails too (I wouldn't), but now a usable instrument that can be integrated into a bigger picture. Keep up the effort, I like your attitude/approach.

  • @moodscaper thanks for letting us know the roadmap, I was holding out for the iPad/Pro version, but I see that you are now planning on building just one universal app, awesome! I'm off to the App Store to make my purchase.

  • Thanks guys - really do appreciate the positive comments  I'm hoping v1.6 (universal) will be ready in a week or two, depending on how much free time I get. There won't be a whole lot of new features, but it'll be a good base to start adding the good stuff. There are a few new things I'd like to include that I hope people will find fun / cool, but I need to kick the tyres on those ideas this weekend before I start making promises
