I keep coming back to Garageband...
Dont know but I do. Drummer? Maybe, guitars, maybe, organs? .....
Just wish it had multi wav file export to send to Auria or Cubasis which I love too!

I'm with you. It's still where I do all my music (with the obligatory bow to AB).
If you're a songwriter, GB is the best tool you can have on iOS and, for the price, it's a no-brainer. If you haven't any other option (because of financial constraints or an older hardware) and have patience and time, you can even try and produce with Garageband only, and perhaps finish the song with a dedicated and cheap mastering suite such as Final Touch. Here some examples of my own:
I just wish Apple would see the light and make it a more open environment that plays nice with other apps. It would get a lot more love (and use) if that were the case.
^^
+1 that
I think they have us on the slow drip, but seems steady...
I've really been impressed with how GarageBand has evolved. Had I known, I think I might not have bought Logix Pro. You can even use the Logix app to control GB now. And to be honest, Logix is more DAW than I really need or use.
Oh yes. Logix Pro is spectacular and deep. Definitely one of the best software values I've had to date on the Mac. It's just that in reality... I barely use 5% of what it's really capable of.
I'm like the guy who bought a Hasselblad to take vacation snapshots without even knowing what an f-stop is.
(though, with regards to photography... I'm well aware of what an f-stop is and could certainly make a Hasselblad sing if I had that kind of bank)
Since I prefer to do everything in Auria, lack of stem export is always one of my big gripes (especially with drum apps). You can solo out each track, and open each in Audioshare or your iDAW of choice. Tedious, but it's a workaround.
Or you can stay in the garden. Garageband really is a very capable program. With all the built in instruments, now featuring automation and tiny drummers with names like Kyle and Marvin - I think it's definitely a desert island app
I think it's at least a small archipelago app. After all you can use IAA instruments in it and AU instruments in it and record from Audiobus. You can also export to Other apps via open in (though a lot of selective muting may be required).
^^
Yes GB is definitely a receiver and not a giver
