KORG nanoKEY Studio release date appears to be near
Looks like some new YouTube videos for the upcoming KORG nanoKEYStudio MIDI controller.
Other than the frustrating lack of English subtitles, this video shows off some of the functionality pretty well.
However, having not owned any previous models of KORG Nano controllers, I was assuming that the keys had more of a rubber build/texture. From this video, it sounds like they are a harder plastic, and quite loud/"clacky". Don't think that's a deal breaker, but it might be for some.

There is something about those weird plastic clacky keys on my NanoKey 2 that I love playing on. It feels like a hybrid between a keyboard and a drum pad. I play more percussive / finger drumming style on it. Very excited for the nanoKEY Studio.
I'm 99% sure I'm buying one as soon as they are released, but I might just test drive one at the Guitar Center before buying from my local synth shop. All the positive features of this machine will most certainly get me past any reservations about the keys. It's good to get some feedback from someone who's used a similar device.
Those keys are my one hang-up on this, just from looking at 'em. I also wonder how well other apps handle BT Midi, cuz I'm not really into Gadget.
But then I think, god, Korg wouldn't ship a keyboard with awful keys, right? But then I remember I don't even have $150 so this is all moot.
I like the McMillan K mix but dang, this thing looks suwheet!
Gadget is one of my "go-to" apps, and all the press releases and info provided seem to indicate that KORG is making a big effort to sync this controller up with Gadget in the best way.
If I wasn't into Gadget, I can see not be too pumped about it. I'm also kind of curious on what kind of mayhem I can create with using that X/Y Kaoss pad with other apps.
Sean, I have the nanoKontrol Studio, and it is nicely integrated with Gadget. Preordered the nanokey studio and it's supposed to ship June 12.
Very cool. Not sure if I'll pick up the nanoKontrol Studio right away, but good to hear that it's working well.
I'm real excited about the mobility of this controller. Bringing this into the office or out to the park in a backpack with my iPad is going to be a treat.
This video shows more of the Nanokey Studio being used with an Ipad. I like it! I like it so much that I think I may pull the trigger on one now from one of the sellers in Japan. I have to pay an extra $50US but if I waited a few extra weeks and ordered from AMS, GC,etc. I would be charged sales tax (7%) and shipping, so it comes out to only about $20 extra to get it now.
That's a really great review! I learned a lot without understanding most of it (minus "brewtooth" and "joystick").
I'm really bummed that they kept the hard plastic "computer key style" keys. Hopefully it'll feel good.
Thanks for the heads up @Seangarland !
That's an interesting mindset that I must adopt!
Oops posted the video redundantly
Who did you order from?
I ordered from Zzounds.
good video
That video was awesome at the end. Shows how great the two of them work with gadget
I'm not sure that I'll be buying the nanoKONTROL studio. I primarily use Gadget for recording tracks versus playing live. The nanoKONTROL looks like it would be great for live mixing.
My workflow for Gadget is more of a 'create lots of scenes' vertical format, rather than those who create one big scene with lots of Gadgets in it, and switching between those on the fly.
I don't have a NanoKey, but I do have an XKey25 with smooth hard keys, which are awesome.
When I try to imagine playing on a rubbery keyboard now, all I can think of is peanut butter key caps.

Their site currently shows an expected date of June 25. http://www.zzounds.com/item--KORNANOKEYST
Most of the other online retailers are showing a similar date. I wonder what is causing the delay.
