I would more love an Octatrack !
Ensoniq warmth was based on hardware, so...And for Ensoniq, the VFX-SD2 would be much interesting (to me)
But I see your point and I'm nostalgic of the Ensoniq sequencer...
I think Roland bought the rights for Ensoniq, but they never produced anything with the brand...
What about a virtual Roland iDJ-70
Virtual as in an app, or as in a plastic box which lights up?
@samu +10000 !!!!
I'd even take an iMirage. My first sampler. Crunchily beautiful.
Even a 'classic' Roland W-30 would be enough
Either way, iM1 seemed great to me at first but in hindsight I barely use it but would love to be able to multi sample my synth into something with a similar retro vibe! Ensoniq or emu would've be great cuz of the filters!
I'd love an ASR/EPS/Mirage app. Seems odd that no developer, even in the desktop realm, has ever been interested in them.
iOS would, in my opinion, finally overcome many of the clunky editing quirks of many 80s hardware boxes (as iM1, FM4 and DXi prove). It's the perfect format to get deep with the ESQ, Wavestation, etc.
I sold RZA the ASR he used on the first Wu Tang album when I was at Sam Ash.. He was my customer.. I sold him all of his equpment. ASR 10 didn't sound great ...
I also sold Moby his Yamaha SY85
Oh cool! Were you in Brooklyn @Telstar5 ?
