Just picked up Orphion, anyone using it?

As it's free and all! Also went for the 99p IAP for editor.

Anyone else using this in their setups? I'm immediately surprised.. it's the most responsive and musical touch interface that I've played by far! I can imagine other useful purposes for it too, depending on how deep the editor turns out to be.

Yes. I've used it in a few tracks just playing it like a hand drum.
This track is 95% Orphion ... right down to the name. ;)

  • Cool! Thanks for sharing.

Anyone got any suggestions of things to control with Orphion?
Thumbjam is an obvious choice of course and the dynamics react well. Adding in Flux FX is an interesting prospect because it's very basic MIDI implementation uses MIDI notes rather than CCs, so you could have extra patches to toggle effects on or off.

  • Doesn't seem to play well with FLUX:FX, but I do think that it's the best performance interface for melodic instruments that I've found yet. Wish I had a bit more control over what MIDI I send out though!

  • this is a gem, thanks for pointing it out!
