Hmm, I'll check it out...
Can anybody with a sustain pedal working with TJ in their own rig verify it works? Describe your rig or routing perhaps...
Merci bien
Yes it works for me: Roland sustain pedal in Roland A-500PRO keyboard via midi in through iCA4+ interface to iPad Air (latest). I've read somewhere that some sustain pedals don't sent the right CC for sustain, so check yours with a midi monitor?
Sometimes a sustain pedal might be inverted, sending 0 for down instead of 127... that might be the issue...
After continuing to fiddle and just hitting switches, the "MPE" switch on has enabled the sustain pedal. It appears to have been off by default.
Grrr, now TJ responds to sustain pedal with MPE on, but midi notes from all other channels. This is problematic for controlling loopy with the pads on the mpk249 as pads cue both triggers in loopy and notes in TJ.
What does MPE stand for and why does the sustain pedal work when it's but when it's off?
That is a very good question, it should have nothing to do with sustain pedal operation. I'll check it out to see if I can reproduce it.
MPE stands for Multi-dimensional Polyphonic Expression and is a pending midi standard for controlling synths where a separate channel is used for individual touches (short answer).
Bumping this as I am going through the bug reports. I also have an MPK and have discovered what your issue is! By default on these keyboards the sustain pedal is mapped to a specific MIDI channel (probably 1) instead of the global current channel set for the keyboard. What happens when you have the omni turned off in TJ (by not using MPE and setting input channel to a number) is that it only pays attention to the sustain pedal for notes when it is sent on the same MIDI channel as the notes.
To resolve this issue on your MPK, press the sustain pedal, then press Edit (on the keyboard), push the enter knob, then the left arrow, and change the channel to say "CC" (instead of 1A, for instance). Then the sustain pedal will track whatever the global channel is set to on the keyboard and sustain will work normally in TJ when an input channel is selected.

Reading this just reminded me I've found a bug in Drumjam. Where should I report it? Loving your apps as always
Just email it to me at [email protected], it all goes to the same place. This goes for everybody, if you have bugs to report for TJ or DJ, do it now! Especially for TJ as I am readying a bug fix release.
Sent. Have fun debugging and continued greatness of your apps. Raises a beer glass.
