New iPhone setup idea

I'm getting interested in just using my iphone6 for multi-app performances.

[Been playing a lot of BlocsWave and Gadget on my iPhone and it's good for inspiration. (I've been scavenging various loops from different places to chop down in Blocs too).]

Anyway, current plan for AB chains:

  • Animoog > Dedalus > AUM

  • Elastic Drums > AUM

  • Gadget (Bass track + Bilbao sample track) > AUM

  • Xynthersizer (synced with Midi-Link sync)

Xyntherizer I'd use to sequence Animoog (semi randomly) and also I'd use the random sequencing in it to trigger various samples in Bilbao.

Mostly I'd flick between elastic drums jam page, Animoog and Gadget (to mute / tweak the bassline).

Wish me luck. It might all be a bit heavy on the CPU but we'll see.

Comments

  • The above would also get interesting with a second phone or iPad running AB remote because that could be used nicely to switch apps / start+stop things and jam ED.

  • Mmm.

So it works, but getting slight crackling when I move Gadget synth knobs. Pretty good though. And the crackles might not come through in the recording.

  • And here's the result (without the Bilboa samples which I didn't get round to).

Sorry, bit long - but no clicks and proves the workflow. Quite pleased for a few hours on my phone.
