Can we have a sticky with an acronym list for the noobs?
Au? Aum?
Comments
Audio unit
AUM ( something something mixer maybe?)
Any others?
AUM isn't an acronym, just the name of the app.
@jjkjjk Items with an asterisk are technically an abbreviation but may sometimes be capitalized and therefore may appear to be an acronym. I am not adding words with specialized meanings to the list unless they're so short they may be open to interpretation as an Acronym.
I believe some AB posters would be willing to explain or refer you to sources for terms not included on the list as you participate on the forum so long as your requests are not too OT, although that is quite subjective and fluid in my experience.

How about not having a sticky list and writing things out for noobs?
how many hours has the day?
ppl are already nice and explain things to noobs, how much time should they invest in explaining things and writing walls of text?
maybe we should explain how to use the iOS dictionary first?
MIDI’s CC is technically Control Change. Sometime during the ’90s some incorrect people started mistaking it for Continuous Controller, and wrote it down, and now many people honestly think it actually does stand for Continuous Controller! Control Change is the correct term as found in the Midi spec, but Continuous Controller shows up more in searches. I mean, the hilarity of it all. The way to remember this is that some CCs are binary switches — on or off — and those are not continuous, but they do change a control. It is like when people don’t arrange all the tins in the cupboard with the label facing outward — quite clearly incorrect not to do so, yet there’s some people.
Mixing tins of beans with tins of custard is also insane !
LMAOOOOO
Oh sorry
Laughing my arse oooooooffffffffff
Not only have you created professional level iOS music AND the iOS music community, but you're also my favourite poster on this message board.
