Samplr meets Borderlands somehow. Thanks so much for doing this. Really very encouraging. Now get back to work...
do the gestures have different quantize options and panning?
Good suggestion about quantization when doing scrub recording manually.
gesture quantisation options would be great. You can pan the streams with LFO quantised to Link bpm or via midi
cool, and thanks for the demo Redsky
Pretty amazing what you can do with this now. The new midi pitch keyboard is fantastic, now you can sequence the pitch of each stream via Modstep

so this means it has both midi in and out, core as well as virtual?
But those still the same midi channel. Needing six individual channel selections on next update.
Yes unfortunately it seems all streams react to the same midi channel at the moment, not sure if there's a workaround....
Sold!
Brilliant video, @RedSkyLullaby, thanks.
Very nice, thanks for posting this, @RedSkyLullaby
Well there is a sort of workaround. You can send pitch via different CC to the different streams. So with a bit of work you could design a patch to send notes from a keyboard to different streams independently. Hopefully Alessandro will add assigning different channels to streams in the next update though.
HOLY COW. For some reason I initially put this into the Not For Me category. I have Borderlands, Samplr, and Fieldscaper.
This seems to be the best of all three.
So what's wrong with it? Something must be, right??
Nothing wrong with it. If you are into this field, you need it.
It is very friendly app, we here are not saying it wrong. To the contrary, we are saying how it can be the best.
iDensity is now gearing to the top Himalaya Everest mountain hikes.
including this in a list along with Fieldscaper is probably the best compliment this app will ever get, now I must give it a try.
ot: do you import samples into stria and then mangle them or does it generate stuff on it's own?
Stria doesnt use sample, iPulsaret does though
okidoki, thanks
There's nothing wrong with it, but compared against Borderlands as a granular device it does seem to process a mono rather than stereo playback of your imported sample. It achieves some breadth by bouncing the grains around or using delay or reverb. Still sounds good in its own way, but just a different approach.
I love the update a lot but I may have discovered a bug: when I play a loop then stop it and hit play again, the volume drops significantly. The values on the mixer page seem to remain as they had been set but touching the volume bar brings back the original output signal. This seems to be happening both when iDensity runs on its own and when open in AUM or Audiobus and other apps are playing as well. Has anyone been experiencing the same?
Edit: the volume drop issue doesn't seem to happen with factory samples and presets, only my own samples appear to be behaving as described above.
