Primer on audio over USB? Mac > iPad?
My audio interface died in the middle of a session, and I'm waiting on a new one to be shipped. Can someone give me a quick overview on routing audio from my Mac to my iPad? Preferably wired.
Isn't audio over USB now native to Mac? Or do I need an app such as Audreio, Studiomux, or musicIO?
I have Audreio but it looks like I would need to spend $25 for their plugin and run it from Pro Tools to iPad. I don't have the other two apps but musicIO is a few dollars more expensive that Studiomux.
What do I need? I just want to get sound from my desktop audio interface into my iPad.

built in does 44k stereo, plug in the ipad and then go to the audio midi setup app to enable. requires latest ios and osx. never tried this mself. i am not actually certain you can send audio from mac to ipad...
studiomux works perfectly for me on a mac, albeit with obscene latency. low jitter tho.
Uhg, don't have latest OSX.
How do the other three compare? Why would I pay $25 for the Audreio plug in? Why would I pay a few bucks more for musicIO than Studiomux?
i have only used studiomux and i have not heard any reports on the others... in case you do not know you can get latest os x for free from the mac app store.
