Somebody must be interested in this allihoopa hoopla. Don't know who... :|

    I got it... :D
I had the same thoughts. I still have Figure on my phone but it's long gone from my pad.

  • I noticed that they stil have "WIST"(which really never took off) in Figure. Would of been nice if it was "Link" instead added. Come on Devs.......... Pretty please!!!...... <3

  • ugghh! I don't know who's worse now - the Auxy developers or Propellerheads mobile division...

Hopefully they realize its not a lost cause and that it can be turned around with a few simple changes. The comments don`t always have to be negative.
If you build it (right), people will thank you.

I did NOT get it. I actually read back through your posts, thinking, Gee, I thought this guy was smart...is he an Allihoopa employee??
Very funny. I haven't updated because I have a collection of a dozen or so of the best 1:20 acid house tracks ever made.....

  • Now that I have Gadget, I've no need for Figure. Shame, because it's a genius app. Gadget is Figure fully realized though, so I've removed Figure from my iPad.

  • Figure has been long gone , removed, long time ago.

I gotta say at this point it's Propellerhead mobile

Also deleted figure, and I use Reason on my main computer :D

  • I just readjusted my end-use expectation level and began to like Figure again. Only use it as a 'top loop' provider. A little bit of a condiment here and there when thinking I need a little something. Within those terms it can (sometimes) be useful.

  • Similar to the right honorable @JohnnyGoodyear , I just changed my expectations and enjoy it for what it is. I view it more like Angry Birds.

  • I thought the key change "tonality" control to be really fun and educational. When Figure first came out was around when I first got into intervals+scales+chords+, moving on from simply making nice sounding loops.

I couldn't wait for the day Figure got that Midi update, and I could record its output and see Why notes sound good together-! Sadly that day never came.
Years ago I moved on. I outgrew Figure, I just got Bored.

I say all this because why would a pro music company, that sells apps they would want people to continually use, throw all their weight behind a throwaway app that has no import/export bridge into their ecosystem? Worse yet, why would they hobble an app that has great potential?

Longevity is tied to functionality, not sociability...what are they going to do 5 years from now when nobody is posting great loops to Alihoopa because it fell out of fashion? Pull the plug on the app? And what's that going to make the other pro apps look like?

Ok I'm preaching to the choir, just hoping someone in the strategy or branding dept. at Propellerhead reads this too.

I have absolutely no doubt they've had (and have?) every variation of this conversation internally.....

  • With Propellerheads/Alihoopa, I feel like I at least have an understanding of what their strategy is for Figure. I have no idea what the Auxy folks are doing. They've essentially released three different apps now under the same name. I haven't a clue what the path forward looks like, and quite frankly I'm hesitant to spend any future money on their apps, seeing how I've already spent money on IAP's and their iPhone app, both now free.

  • Trust me the developers constantly read what is said about Figure on this forum, but i have come to realize that their vision and what they want to do with Figure is so different from what you and I want as users.

Sometimes the plan is that there is no plan....

  • I don't enjoy creating with Figure as much anymore, but sometimes on the bus I will load up some loops I created with it and mess around with them.

  • I still use Figure but only for generating grrooving basslines which it excels at and the occasional arp. I can just about get by without midi sync or Link by matching the tempo.....but if it did have it along with midi out to point at another synth and midi mapping of the rhythm divisions it would become the serious tool that it could be rather than the social media plaything that the props have evidently decided that they want it to be.

  • I keep threatening to use Figure to create some loops for Launchpad or Blocs Wave. Seems like an quick & easy way to do it. And with the new scenes in Blocs Wave, you can create some full tracks quickly.

  • If Only Figure had Link it would make the Blocs Wave & Figure combo really neat :)

  • IF proppelerheads reads here, why?
They ignore complete the thoughts an wishes of the musicians who wanna use it as a instrument, seems the targetgroup for them is more an more the 5minute-freegame-playa who sends their new highscore wobble basses to the socialnetworks to make their friends happy....
maybe i am to old for this to understand....
    ;-)

    Totally agree there @Samu

  • I'll be the first to admit that my workflow hasn't changed in ages, so I as long as Figure continues to have ACP, it still is a great "starter" for ideas that I can bring into NanoStudio (yes, NanoStudio. Like I said, my workflow hasn't changed in ages).

  • Never updated Figure when that big change came around recently, since I visualise my pitched audio better in keyboard/piano roll style it never really Figured much in my workflow. (I know you all saw what I did there. ;) )

Even so, like many of you here, I wanted it to. Figure always looks so fun.

Me too. NanoStudio rocks my world, still. :)

@JohnnyGoodyear: Awesomely useful reminder/tip, for lots of apps. I thank you. :)
