I haven't had time to learn everything it does, but it sounds great. Is it possible to choose different keys besides E, and if not, is that a future consideration?
Hi lovadamusic thanks!
- different keys will be supported in a couple of ways in the not too distant future. Here's the plan...
In v1.9 you will be able to completely replace the stock samples so you can have whatever key you like if you're willing to create the samples yourself.
In v2.0 I plan to add MIDI out, and you will be able to specify the root note of the selected scale.
Hope this helps. -Rob
@moodscaper thanks for the update, the app looks like it will just get better and better.
@moodscaper: Thanks. I may try my own samples, and MIDI out sounds useful. I'm still really liking the sound of it, so working within the limitations is also a viable option.
Thanks guys - something I forgot to mention. As I really like making samples, I also plan to make new sound packs (moody bags?
) available as downloads on moodscaper.com as soon as v1.9 is available - hoping to submit that version to the App Store this weekend. All the best, -Rob
Another update today
Looking forward to midi out and the ability to skip iTunes for sample loading.
Oh and I read the manual which made me smile in places even if I didn't really understand it at 1st read through.
Hi Folk - moodscaper v1.9 was released yesterday - this allows you to load your own samples and there's a demo set of samples that you can download from moodscaper.com And...
Nathan - please can I ask that you refrain from reviewing every version of the app I release bemoaning the lack of AB support and state saving. I heard you the first time, and I have tried to explain how I prioritise things. AB is on the list, and I posted quite a detailed explanation of where AB support is in the general plan for moodscaper. Thanks.
@BiancaNeve - drop me a message via the site or FB if there's anything specific you need clarification on - I'm not very good at writing manuals, so it's a little rambling and confusing I'm sure!
Thanks for your effort on this. Really looking forward to how folks use their own samples etc. For the record, I have a feeling Nathan may have left town....
I'd be interested to see/hear how this works with imported samples... Do you need to import many samples of a same sound to make the generative playing happen ?
I hope you are correct...
Hello,
I'm a photographer and video person using Photoshop and Cyberlink to turn my pics into videos. I was using a Weird Sound Generator and a Benjolin that I made and then the freebies off YT plus Audacity to edit all three.
Quite by accident (on YT I think) I came across Moodscaper and bought an old iPad to use it on. Recently I bought an iPad 6th gen to be able to use some of the 64 bit apps.
What I have found though and this perhaps just applies to me as a complete non-musician, is that I can watch one of my videos and use Mood/Pianoscapers to create a soundtrack at the same time. For this and to me this makes the 'scaper apps unparalleled.
I have bought several other synth apps none of which has anywhere near the scope and range of the 'scapers. I can also use Audacity to do some editing as well. Thanks to Rob Jackson I am able to create something of my own using his apps.
But, as you do I look for something that is in even the same league and find ... nothing.
Cheers
