Track made with completely free sounds on iPad

It was a few months ago I decided to make the switch from traditional desktop DAW's to iOS because I believe it's the future and want to be ahead of the curve. This is my first vaporwave track I made with completely free apps and samples, most of the sounds come from the Yamaha AN2015 free synth, and the drums are some free Linn samples I found on the internet. I'll be releasing a full album soon mostly completely written on ipad. Thanks for checking it out:

Apps I used in the making of the album, called Love Songs for Space Mans, include the AN2015, Patterning, Soundprism Electro, Chordpolypad and GrouptheLoop.

I should note I used Garageband (which came free with my iPhone) to put the track together but then recorded it out to Ableton Live to be mastered. You could probably get the same result with Audacity or the free Ableton Lite.

  • Patterning was free?

No patterning wasn't used on the track above, I didn't use any paid apps on that track but I used the paid apps I listed on almost all of the rest of the album. I still use Ableton to record the audio and to master the track though, although the same result could definitely be achieved with something like Audacity.

  • Cool project, I'll take a listen later. :)

  • That's impressive--especially given that all the tools were free! We live in a golden age of democratized music creation tools.

  • Nice idea and great demo!
