DDMF Reverb demo/review

I love having another AU reverb plugin besides zero reverb. Some of the settings, the tails end abruptly, but overall there are some very good sounding usable presets.

Here I sidechained ddmf and a tiny bit of crystalline.

    Hi @ion677

Very nice. It's great isn't it...

    I did a similar test/demo myself https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/14056/new-ddmf-au-envelope-reverb-animoog-test

Because i'm a bit ignorant, could you explain to me sidechaining reverb? And how you did it on this track. (I get how a kick drum might induce compression on another track to allow the kick to be heard - but i'm a bit confused on what you're doing here!).

Sidechaining reverb allows you to blend a completely dry and completely wet signal to taste. You can also send an effect into another effect.

  • I think that's an AUX send, not a sidechain. A sidechain is where you trigger an effect such as a gate or a compressor with the audio from a different channel (or a filtered version of a channel) altogether. For example you can set up a compressor on a bass guitar that "listens" for the kick drum, and only applies compression when the kick drum sounds.

Thank you. I've been trying to figure out how to do an Aux send like that in AUM. Very cool.

So am I right that iGrand has a choice of how much apply either:

    • DDMF + Crystaline
      or

    • just Crystaline

    Or am I mistaken?

Edit. Sorry - have worked it out now:

    • DDMF + Crystaline
      or

    • Dry

And you can adjust varying ammounts.

So presumably you had DDMF's internal wet/dry knob turned to 100% wet?
