recommend a pitch delay app?

I use the Slow Pitch LFO patch in Turnado on my guitar for one tune in my set, but I'd like to free up Turnado for some glitching on the drum tracks. Can someone recommend a pitch delay app that could get in the same ballpark?

  • Holderness EchoPad is my first choice when it comes to delays...

    cheers, Tom

  • thanks @Telefunky. Echo pad looks very much like what I'm looking for. Do you happen to know how CPU hungry the app is?

  • all Holderness stuff is fairly demanding, which is understandable for this level of quality
an iPad 2 would probably run into clicks, but anything from a Mini-2 and up is ok
I also have Turnado, but it's processing engine is a lot simpler, in particular filters
if you don't have EchoPad I'd recommend the full bundle (the tremolo is stellar and competes with boutique pedals)

    cheers, Tom

  • Thanks, Tom! I'll check out the bundle.

I second Tom's recommendation of the bundle. I don't think you will be disappointed.

  • @Telefunky and @JeffChasteen Boy, you were not joking... The delay app is very good, but this tremolo app is AMAZING.

  • What is “pitch delay”?

the best way to describe it is that the delayed signal is pitched up/down. It's delightfully trippy.

Well. Pretty sure frekvens can do pitched delays. And since its an AUx you could technically do parallel fx delays in AUM to do some really trippy stuff. http://www.humbletune.com/frekvens/

Actually. Their site says it doesn't do pitch delays. That being said. I still find their frequency shifted delays deliciously Trippy

  • Livefx, sliver but Im not sure to understand well.

Nice, doesn't do exactly what I want but it's so good that I bought it anyway. Thanks for the tip!

  • Any new recommandation in 2022? I don't like the Eventide one (the desktop version is way better), my current app is not Auv3. I want something easy to use and not a complicated module in Drambo.

I had a cool one in my Zoom CDR70.

  • The original post mentioned Turnado did the job, but at the time wasn't AUv3. Now that it is, the question is no longer relevant as a second instance could just be used.

What I'm trying to say, is in the context of the thread, Turnado could do the job. So maybe that's your answer? Or, are you specifically looking for something other than Turnado?

I was hoping for a more custamisable app.
Like Octavox. Harmony 8 is similar but the sound of the repeated notes is too low.

An app that can play the note I ask.
I play a C and I can choose +3, +5, +7 for example with a control on the volume of each note.

  • Dedalus Delay by Amazing Noises is pretty awesome for pitched delays. Gotta spend a little time with it though. Don't forget those synced LFOs on every parameter so it's not static.

  • This is the cream of the crop.

  • Ah! Now I know what you mean @Montreal_Music.

  • What's wrong with Harmony 8? It works here - pitch shiting quality is not the best but it does shifts between -12 and +12 semis.

Is it auv3? I see nothing in the store description, only iaa…

  • ChowMatrix

It’s free and sounds really good, ChowDSP quality. Can do pitch shifting per node and it has great modulation.
It’s probably more focused to more chaotic stuff but you can do simple pitched delays. The different algorithms really change the flavor of the sound, analog mode sounds great.

I wonder why people haven't been posting their own patches for both ChowMatrix and BYOD? Both wildly flexible in their design and free for users, I sort of expected more activity to happen around both.

  • Bleass Delay has a pitch section that I've been having a lot of fun with lately, and Bleass apps seem to be pretty CPU-frugal generally

  • I'm about to release this very type of app:

    https://testflight.apple.com/join/X1sxyYiO

It will be available to beta test for a limited time before it is released. It is primarily focused on harmonies on the input and on the delays separately.

Super cool find. If I need a clean repeat how shoul I set the 2 HZ parameters?

Will dig the app soon with the Rainbow App.
