and everyone wants his piece of the cake obviously...
sorry, another one for the digital trash can
(had to write this for fairness sake - as I just wrote the same about VoxSyn)
I really don't get it... how deaf must one be to stand such sounds ?
you can browse YT with countless examples of analog vocoders - this isn't even remotely similiar
cheers, Tom
I guess it's cool, but isn't a vocoder like a once-an-album trick?
Not if you're Kraftwerk.

And outside of "Computer World" (and "Mr. Blue Sky"???), it seems like just a way to wreck a nice beach.
When used in the typical way—with human voices. But to process other sounds like drums, crickets, etc. it can be an effective tool for creating unique sounds. Also if you distort a sound source into oblivion prior to feeding it to a vocoder sometimes magical things happen. Sometimes.
Anybody run this on an ipad 4? i'm getting really bad audio if i play more than one note at a time, bad staticky crackling type stuff. playing mono is better but still cracking.
I used a vocoder (iVoxel) dominantly on my worldwide hit Robot Christmas:
Voxsyn is brilliant. I'm not normally a fan of vocoder effects but this ones capable of such a range of sounds it's a really useful FX tool, not just for vocals.
Wait, did I type ‘hit’? Ah, I see the problem — there was a tiny grain of rice blocking the ‘s’ key.
Like any instrument or music creation tool, your desired results and methods will vary from one person to the next. Attributing results to properties arising from playing an instrument or tool regardless of the player is a distorted perspective of the creative process.
@VirSyn , another possible bug?
Sometimes the sound coming in, does not trigger Voxsyn synth.. I tried with a mic or line in and sometimes there are just "holes" in out coming sound....sound gets "muted or cut" by Voxsyn.
Could it be that some frequencies simply don't trigger the vocoder depending on preset chosen?
Sorry wrong thread...was for Voxsyn thread
Yep, I've noticed this, thought it was part if the synth effect though
