zMors EQ or F16 Filter for drastic parametric EQ sweeps, or other recommendations?

Recently I've used F16 Filter. It does the job although it's not the best version of this effect that I've heard (the EHX Engima pedal that I used to use before going iOS reigns supreme! Unfortunately it's not usable in my current configuration).

Here's an example of the sound I'm after:

I'm just considering trying out zMors offering, but I'd rather not put the money down until I know it'll be worthwhile. Can anyone who owns these two apps give me any insight into it please?
Only concrete requirement is AU compatibility (I'm waiting in anticipation for WOW Filterbox and AUFX:Peak to go AU).

If anyone has any general tips regarding this kind of effect then let's get that discussion going too! I used to use a hi-pass filter with mopderate resonance and enough of the clean signal blended in on my EHX pedal. It had a drastic but usable sound that gave a different tonal quality wherever you 'parked' it. In F16 I'm using a 4 pole band.

Cheers,
Oscar

  • I'm not a specialist, but you can built cool sounding filters directly in AUM, an midi learn the whole thing

Good suggestion, and will save on memory use (F16 has regularly managed to push things over the edge!).
    Thanks, will have a play.

Is F16 the same filter as Viking? If so, setting 'Linear' for the Circuit type, reduces resource requirements considerably.

Ah cool. It's similar but not identical. I'll have a look inside and see.
    Thanks!

    edit:
It doesn't have this option in the same way as Viking's
