Looking for non-overdriven electric guitar or lead sounds for ballads/slower songs

I have been wondering if there is an app that has an electric guitar sound (maybe a preset inside an app) which may be suitable for slow ballads/worship music. Something more mellow and with no overdrive. I checked out the electric guitar in Thumbjam but that is way too powerful for what I need. If there are no electric guitars like these available, are there softer synth leads that could work as an electric guitar replacement?

  • Ifretless guitar, Guitarism, GuitarCapo...

  • Plus you can download some clean electric guitar patches in Thumbjam. Check the Download Samples section in Sound

  • Thumbjam's guitars are very playable.

  • Guitar capo is a wonderful app. I wish it had more options to pay for more features. They have a nicer sounding acoustic than any Korg preset I have ever came across. It's dang expressive as well.

  • The Session Band apps have plenty of this.

    Geoshred.

+1 The best option for solo and leads with a fantastic playable surface .But No midi yet :(

  • @Martygras thumb jam is underrated. You can make your own instruments and add effects with expressive controls Bluetooth midi all the in and outs you need to create a track. It is so fun to use.

  • ^ All this stuff. Plus Jam Maestro. Generally, if not using an actual guitar, I turn to Guitarism for chords/arps and Thumbjam for leads (note, I don't own geoshred though).

  • I use one of these for smooth guitar

But it has no audiobus/IAA/AU, no link, no midi, no scale lock , no auto chords , no dropbox support etc. and it hasn't been updated since the 80's I bet.

  • it does have scale lock, so long as you're willing to retune it. ;)

    Grin!

  • Steel Guitar by Yonac is cheap and my favorite for chill or beautiful, fx-heavy clean guitars...works best with big strums, arpeggiated chords or slide, of course. The guitar in the following track came from that app and is the sort of sound that I think this app excels in emulating:

    Nice work.

It is also great for alternate tunings. I have made a lot of presets using Sonic Youth tunings and the like. No restringing necessary.

  • @oddSTAR really like that track nice and dreamy.

  • +1 for Steel Guitar. Just gorgeous clean tones.

  • There are a lot of simple guitar sounds in SampleTank. You can try one of them in the free version.

I don't know if this counts, but there is also a nice clean and electric guitar sound in GarageBand.
