New Guitar VS new ipad - click to see who won!
I've been saving for two years, I bought a new Gibson Les Paul studio Faded series. Should be here tomorrow! I cannot freakin wait. I love my Fender to death, and we've been through a lot the last 20 years. But, it's time to add some more to the arsenal. I think almost every review I read gave this guitar very high marks. I liked the way it sounded in demos I listened to.
I also got it for a steal. With the 4th of July sale goin down. Looks like my ipad air 1 will need to get the job done for me for at least another 2 years, barring a miracle and some money just drops out of the sky.
I did a lot of weighing, on if I thought I needed more power to process songs with apps, and I think what I have going now is doing pretty well. I would like more power, but didn't think I needed it. I hope I didn't make a big mistake, but after researching the guitar, it won.
The only thing this guitar doesn't have, that I don't know if I even need, is Coil splitting. I tried to read about it, and it made my head split trying to understand it. Kinda like when I read about side chaining and routing buses and stuff.
Anyway, just thought I'd share........ For whatever reason.

I would have chosen the same as you if I had that choice to consider
I waited 20 years to buy a Les Paul, I love that sound. Can't stand the sound of strats and teles (no offence Fender fans, personal preference).
Coil splitting is just a means to turn your humbuckers into single coils. Humbuckers are kinda the point of Les Pauls though, definitely something you can live without, especially if you have Fender as well.
