Drumming Drummer Drummy. Positive Grid

Drum app project - Sneak peek #1

With our coming drum app you will be able to easily create full drum tracks with a few finger taps, and play along a virtual drummer with AI drum technology.-----Positive Grid

Sounds cool and very promising. Between this and Derek B's, it will be interesting. And exciting! :)

Comments

  • Are there many presets? Or are we stuck with that ugly, bongwater-smelling rug?

    I joke!
Would love to see a video.

  • Maybe my imagination but aren't they the same thing @High5denied ?

  • After becoming very frustrated with the quirks of iOS drum apps, even great ones like DrumPerfect and Funk Drummer, I broke down and bought EZ Drummer 2 for Windows. The latter is so much easier. If this app could tap a couple of its main features (IMO searching its pattern library based on a user supplied patterns for close matches, and dialing up / down individual parts based on intelligence about what real drummers do) this would be a game changer. I hope it is!

Really? I know he used to work for PG, but not anymore. I guess they could be the same. Similar features. hmmm...... Now you got my wheels spinnin! ;)

  • No, definitely not the same. Derek is developing his app with the ifretless guys.

  • Derek said his was getting ready for beta last month so the timing could be right though.

  • From PG:

Access dozens of cloud-based drum patterns created by professional drummers, plus thousands more created by the drum app user community.

Download professional artists drum kits on the cloud - go a step further and virtually design your own, then share it and download it on the cloud.

  • Looking forward to this very much.

  • Artificial Intelligence Drum app - Join the beta program
AI Drums will be your best songwriting partner. With a few finger taps, the app quickly listens and learns your song's structure, BPM, and music style. You can even change the feel of each drummer depending on your personal taste, and look out for thousands of drum patterns and drum kits from the cloud to virtually match your songs. The more you play with it, the more the app will learn about your drum preferences. Coming soon on iPad.
If you play with iPad drum apps and would like to give it a test drive, just sign up at: http://www.positivegrid.com/drumapp/

    Cool Beans!

  • Damn it looks nice! To bad I'm not experienced enough to be a tester. Would really like to test it though. From a mediocre musicians point of view :D

    RIght???

    What is that telling me?

  • I thought the same thing. Gadget wise. Deff. a close copy, if not a carbon copy.

  • I don't know, what IS it telling you?

  • I'm confused by those pics too. What's going on?

  • Someone with mediocre skills in Photoshop is sh*ting around with people :D

The 2 on the far right are the same thumbnails for Salzburg and Miami by the look of them.
And all the knobs and sliders look like gadget too (to me anyway)

Hmmmmmmm. Well that would be an explanation. A kind of prosaic one though.

  • Hmmm..... Same Same................

This, wasn't the original announcement of this app thought of as an April Fool's Day joke?

As well, of course this is going to be easier than other drum apps! You don't have to actually do any work in this app! (drum apps with no sequencers or individual MIDI Note In triggering are cheating and should be discouraged, imo)

  • I'm sorry but this whole production looks super cheesy.

  • Dang it, I just gave them my personal info... :#
