  • It seems we have to wait until 14th (France) or 25th (Spain Santiago's Day) to have better chances.

So, you get the same thing paying $14,99 instead of $24,99?

Damned, I just bought the 2 FX packs full price 2 weeks ago... if only I'd been aware of this sale lol...

Good q. However looking at the reviews of Cubasis LE there are lots of unhappy ppl. It looks like you should be able to upgrade but further research necessary

Alas, but at least you had them for that once-in-a-generation moment of inspiration a week and a half ago, right?? Big question: are they worth it? The delays in FX Pack 1 seem a decent value; not sure if I require autopanning and wah that the other pack has....

  • I'm not sure if you have to unlock the LE feature first with some compatible hardware to save that additional $10.

By the way, I wonder how it would performs on an iPad4 (not many tracks at once).

  • Lorentz and Laplace are currently 30% off.

  • And Mersenne

    More money....

OK. Mersenne is the singular one, right?
What's the rundown on Lorentz and Laplace?
Are there any other synths that do what they do?

  • Lorentz and Laplace @ 30% off...decisions...decisions. It's rather amusing because the rationale most often at musicappblog.com for purchasing another on-sale app is that it's hardly the price of a cup of coffee and a cookie. That's as may be, however it still adds up to a lot of coffees and cookies, none of which I eat because I am trying to keep my manly figure in tip-top shape.

Laplace does sound interesting though, especially given its somewhat unique clangorous timbre, and after all, it's hardly the price of a cup of coffee and a cookie!

  • I love lorentz and mersenne! I keep saying it on every thread

They are very pleasant to work with

Lorentz = super easy and fast to tweak simple virtual analog, but very distinct and modern sounding (Be careful with the resonator and the filter drive, you can get some very very nasty dirty agressive sounds)
I love it for evolving drones but it can do much more even if it seems limited in the first place

I am all about rationale. I am also of an age where the metabolism doesn't run like it used to, nor the legs. And then there's pie. So your Apps Not Cookies equation is perfect. Appaholia as a diet plan!

  • Enough of your rationalizations! Tell me what to buy! Already got Mersenne and ducking my iPad headphones on I made a wondrous gamelan arpeggio on hold that sounds like the ghost of Harry Partch.

I swear, if PolyStepArp or iElectribe goes on sale, I'll be eating $1 slices and ramen for the next week.

    Sale price is £2.29?

I got it for $2.99USD on 7/1 but apparently it went to 1.99 on 7/4 (o well), back up to 4.99 right now

  • Ah yeah I got it on the half way point too. Still good!

You're right man and it happens to everyone... And it is not that bad as my opinion is that these FX packs are already pretty cheap for what they offer. They don't provide a huge amount of customization options but they all sound very professional (to my ears at least), and they are an easy/quick option to add slight FX when finalizing a mix...
I particularly love the Stereo Delay and Width which permit me to make a song/instrumental sound wider and I also love the Talk Box and the Enhancer...

And I am happy to send money to Steinberg for Cubasis as it is one of the few apps which permit me to make real finalized songs/instrumentals (Cubasis, Beatmaker2 and Gadgets are my favorite song/instrumental making apps... And sometime I dream they could be mixed together to make the ultimate DAW lol...).

PS : I am still waiting for that once-in-a-generation moment of inspiration ;-)
