Should you host AU's in aum when using cubasis?
Is there an argument to be made for hosting AU's in aum rather than locally when using cubasis? Specifically, synths?
Comments
Only if you have lots of user-presets already saved in AUM. Otherwise it will just disrupt your workflow and eat up precious resources.
It seems Apple really missed the boat on AU presets when it's setup so there's no way to share AU presets for the same AU apps between AU hosts. You have IAA apps which can save their own settings in a preset and AU apps that get their settings and the host apps settings saved but it's host app specific. Audiobus state saving saves the setup for all of the apps in the setup. We're still experiencing iOS growing pains.
