Video..Korg MODULE, TRITON Best Of Sound Pack

The classic, iconic and still much loved Korg TRITON is represented here as an IAP for Korg MODULE.
It has 100 superb presets from the Triton which are sure to bring back many memories from 90’s and the Naughty’s
But it still sounds super 80’s.

Great run through, Doug. I've been considering this one just for the ability to play some iconic synth sounds in Gadget, so this is very much appreciated :sunglasses:

Where does it show up in Gadget? Under Glasgow with the Mellotron patches?

  • Very cool, I wasn't previously that bothered about this pack, but this may well have swung it - Korg should pay you commissions!

I'm not to happy with that so much of the Korg Modules expansions show up in Glasgow...

Please Korg Inc. let Glasgow have the same category behavior as Marseille have (much much easier to find the right soundpatch fast)...

Agree also with you guys; Triton sounds great!
Among one of my hardware synth I've own an Korg Triton Extreme from 2004/2005... But, since iPad came into my life more or less all my hardware synth mostly collection dust :-(

    +1

  • Can you load many sounds and play them on different midi channels?

my goodness. those guitars sound splendid. would be amazing to have them inside gadget.
that reverbed trumpet was divine too  I dont understand how this pack is just 34mb.
is it 100% synthesis ? does it actually somehow emulate the hardware triton ?

  • @Korakios yes in Gadget.

We already have the Triton-patches/sounds in Korg Gadget...

Sold me on it. Multiple sounds here I would love to have in Gadget. I'm also confused as to how the file size is so low. Some of the acoustic instruments sound real. Are they not samples?

  • These are VERY clever companies. Take a look at Roland Sound Canvas which is about 44MB and has something like 1600 sounds.

  • The Sound Canvas uses Sample + Synth technology - the attack part of a sound is sampled, as that often is key to reproducing a particular sound, while the sustain part (where less is happening in a real world sound) is synthesized. it was a common practice when sample memory was at a premium. Triton is a later generation, but maybe some of the same tricks, or clever looping, are behind the sounds. It always amazed me how much the main hardware synth manufacturers could pack into relatively small ROM sizes.

Sounds good to me. I missed out when I was into Windows DAWs and Reason around this time period.

  • For those who have both iM1/Darwin (with all sound cards) and this Triton pack:
Are these Triton sounds unique? I know they have similar type sounds, but are the Triton patches created with different samples, or do they have the same samples at the core as the M1/T1?
