Electric guitar sounds in gadget?

Anybody have any suggestions for getting good sounding electric guitar sounds inside gadget? I've heard some good rock demos, but can't seem to replicate that rock sound in gadget. Thanks in advance.

Best bet would be if you have iM1, which shows up as Darwin in Gadget. There are a number of "electric" guitar patches. Not the same as a real guitar, but in the ballpark. Similarly, if you have Module and grab the Triton IAP Doug just demoed, there are a handful of guitar presets which show up in the Glasgow gadget.

A dedicated amp sim gadget would be awesome, but that seems like a bit of a stretch from a synth company for an app that still doesn't support more than 10 seconds of audio ...

  • It depends on what kind of giutar sound you are after, but in addition to the above suggestions, try using Madrid, up the octave once or twice and tweak the amp settings to taste - it can sound pretty good.

  • Just my opinion but...

    MARSEILLE: 121 - Guitar distorsion / 122 - Dist Guitar

    KIEV: 036 - Morph Guitar

CHIANG MAI: 016 - Fuzz Lead

  • Thanks for all the suggestions. There's a weird issue I'm having though: the mod wheel on my midi controller controls the vibrato in module(like it should) and in gadget it controls the output volume. Is there no vibrato in gadget instruments?

  • I predict a guitar gadget w strumming will be coming soon as well as a brass

I'd be cool with that. I'm also surprised they haven't released a "Strings" gadget, yet.

@ion677 Here are a few good Distortion Guitar patches in Darwin, assuming you have the IAP for iM1
DistGuitar, Distr.Solo, Dark Solo, Metal Kids, JH DistGtr, LeadGuitr1, Ban Guitar, Metal Solo,

There are two main distortion guitar patches in Glasgow from the Triton Pack
Wet Dist. Guitar and Power-Chords&FX. The latter has a bunch of funny sounds in the upper range

  • Samples into Bilbau or Abu Dhabi maybe?

Thanks for all the help guys. Here's what I came up with. It's really close to what I was wanting.

What did you end up using finally ? Im1 ? Or module ?

  • @gonekrazy3000 module. Some of the other gadgets don't have vibrato, which to me is almost essential.

which IAP is this from ?

There is keyboard player by the name of John Young, some of you may know of him, who once entered a guitar shredding competition by sending in a tape of himself playing a Korg Triton. The judges didn't realise that it was a keyboard, not a guitar, and he won third place!

I do some basic chords and solos.

The chords I put in Bilbao.

The solo loop into Abu for "play ability factor"

I actually do same for solos in Samplr

    Gives a cool sound.

I could share some solos with you if you like. PM me
