Jriver JRemote compatibility

I see a tonne of compatible apps listed but I could not find JRemote from JRiver? Any chance I just missed it? Is anyone using Audiobus with JRemote?

Thanks.

Carl.

  • ?? What smells like spam?

I use JRemote on my iphone to stream all my music from my NAS via an HTPC. I am hoping to improve the audio quality to the JRemote app. Isn't that what Audiobus is about?

  • My apologies. I saw that you joined the forum this evening and that the app in question doesn't seem to be about making music, which is what Audiobus facilitates. I jumped to conclusions. Are you looking for a way to EQ or color the music you're playing?

  • Yes that is exactly what I am looking for. In my search the only app I found that even purports to be able adjust EQ for other IOS apps is Audiobus. But I was disapointed to see that JRemote was not listed.

    Carl.

  • I don't use the "Apple" music player as it is very limiting. All of the other EQ programs have their own players which will only access the music in the built in player which really sucks. I saw a glimmer of hope when I found Audiobus. But then JRemote was not listed as a compatible app.

I have many good quality Headphones. But the audio from the iPhone (6S btw) always seems to be a bit on the high side and missing a bit of the low end. (Though my Bose Headphones come pretty close). But I have a new set of Bluetooth In Ear buds which I think have potential if I could only adjust the highs a bit. (The Bose headphones are a bit bulky for biking)

  • Hey buddy. Audiobus is about connecting musician apps together, like synthesizers, fx, and recording apps. More about making music than listening to your library.

  • That's really too bad. I think there would be a huge market for them to support other listening apps like JRemote since there does not seem to be anything else out there that even comes close to doing so.

So each and everyone of the 100's of listed compatible apps I saw are all for making music? Wow I never realised there were so many music making apps available for the iPhone. I am an avid listener but probably a bit old to start getting into making music lol.

  • Yes, all those apps are about making music.

Ok. Well thanks for your responses. (Except the first one of course :-)) lol.

EDIT: Oops. I see the first one wasn't from you.

btw. I don't suppose you ( or anyone here) actually knows of an Equalizer app that might fit my needs?

@jctcom What about this? I think it does what you described.

Unfortunately because it is not free to try I will not try it.
Because it has it's own built in Player I doubt it will see or work for JRemote. Most of these that I have tried (And there have been many). Only see the music that has been added through iTunes. They generally will not work with any other apps that are not using the music files download via iTunes and stored locally on the device.

If you happen to know that this is not the case with this particular app I would actually pay for it.
But without verification I have spent too much money on such apps as it is all for nothing.

Edit: After looking at it more in depth the app itself looks really interesting. The only problem I have is that I use JRemote over Cellular Data when I am out and about to stream music from my NAS (Synology). I don't see a way to do that with this app and connect to my existing music on my Synology NAS Server outside of the local network.

I read through the description of this further and ended up buying it. It doesn't do what I wanted, but it has a great feature for transferring music to it via FTP which makes it really easy compared to other solutions (Not using iTunes). Plus of course I can use the amazing Graphic EQ with the music I have transferred to the iPhone.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

Maybe what you are looking for is this: Audio Mastering series by iMusicAlbum

Don't need to buy the pack, just see what you need to spice up the music, they are sold individually too and the developer has some of the best apps sound and quality wise.

Edit: forget it if you have iPhone...they are for iPad, sorry
