Astonishing deal. It's usually $19.99 / £13.99.
The iPhone version is also free: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/traktor-dj-for-iphone/id625335999?l=de&ls=1&mt=8
I've downloaded and am looking forward to giving it a go!
Wow...been avoiding it because of the price. Thanks for posting!
This seems to be part of celebrations for the fifth anniversary of the App Store. For those on here who like games, the likes of Badland, Infinity Blade II, Tiny Wings, Where's My Water and Superbrothers Sword & Sorcery EP are also free.
I got absolutely no need for a DJ app or know anything about DJ:ing, but free is free....and ima total app slut. So thank you Native Instruments!
All good games above, except....Tiny Wings (=fact). By the way, even if you don't do any gaming you should check out the Superbrothers game. It got a really great soundtrack produced by Jim Guthrie. And the whole LP (27 tracks) is available in iTunes for like 8-9 bucks I think it was.
I was going to post the same as Michael, it's thought it might be free as part of the celebration though nothing official has been said anywhere.
How to Cook Everything (iPad) has also dropped to free from €9.
Sword & Sorcery EP is super awesome. Definitely get that.
@tarasis They even have a chapter called 101 Ways to Wok Your Dog! ;-) j/k
Thanks for the heads up everyone!

Well crap - I paid full price for this, and have to admit I have only used cheaper DJ apps since. Traktor for iOS is good, but not GREAT. Excellent for free though!
Wtf?! @chrisg, I LOVE tiny wings!
No AudioBus? or audio copy-paste? Guess you get in and out of this thing via the built in recorder and DropBox. Can I think of it as Samplr with two waves visible at once with quantize? Anyone found a manual yet?
I can tell you that I got TraktorDJ the week it came out (and that I have long used the full version on my laptop), but for my own iPad DJing needs (which include looping and effects, as well as Audiobus), I prefer DJay. Significantly, though, Traktor is FREE - at least today.
@Sebastian S&S EP, yes is super cool. Not a games fan but this is fab. Thanks for the tip.
Shit I paid for BOTH iphone and ipad apps. Anyways hope you all enjoyed the app. The auto sync is really easy to use. If youve never dj'd before, you will become one after using this haha. I've asked themon their forums several times to add audiobus so hopefully in future we'll have it.
@eyeballinjackson - do you mind me asking your dj setup? Ive been trying to focus on sound trends meta dj for ipad as it has all those features you mentioned, especially ability to use drum loops with the track decks. You mention djay so are you using ableton or actual hardware gear as well.
Also note to dj newbies (im a relative dj newbie as well), make use of the EQ. Cut the low on the track where you want the vocals, keyboards or guitars and cut the mids and highs (unless you want the hi hats or percussion elements) of your drum track to have a nice blend. Obviously use your ears but thats what i usually do to get a nice mix.
Can I Audiocopy paste tracks in ?
no. If you have your own tracks, just convert them to a wav or mp3 and use ifunbox to get them into music library. it pulls from library.
@gjcyrus my dj setup is my ipad! thanks to audiobus I can do a WHOLE lot with a little. I'm not settled on a single DJ app, and minimal processor use is a top priority since I frequently use Turnado or other effects lately. it sounds like I should look into meta DJ. When I present my own music I'll use a laptop as well, for running Reason or whatever. Simple MIDI clock sync. Trying different outboard effects in the loop of my mixer as well, lately - mostly cheap guitar pedals: distortions, phasers, delay... My iPad interface is a Griffin iStudio.
