I like DM1 and DM2 as a pair. However you still have to start DM1 first before it will load into AUM and both still have to be turned way down to be at a decent level. Otherwise I have no complaints. :)

  • That's cool, first drum machine I downloaded on iOS and I liked it, but MIDI sync was just impossible. Of course, we're living in the 'post patterning' era now, however ;)

  • Nice to see an update but c'mon somewhat 'modern' drum-machines need a 'flexible grid' that allows sub-divisions...
Then again, why would I still need DM1 when I have Gadget with Bilbao??

  • Thanks to the dev.

  • Yep!....... It been a while, coming, but, many thanks Dev. Now with Link Sync, & no more shitty midi clock ups. Love the sounds in DM1. Now, I hope eventually FunkBox get the Link update? :)

  • Oooooh that's a bonus

  • That's great news. Fun great sounding app for me. Will load 'er back up.

  • Sweetness! i love some of the melodic kits and fx combos with DM1. Future jazz quirkiness, whoot!

  • Reinstalled!!!

It is still kind of buggy. A very quirky kind of buggy and crashed app. I like a lot on this app. It is just still a kind of unspeakable kind of top secret kind of bugs living inside this app.

I tried already sequencing another drum app with it. This is the best app for my finger drawing on grids. I will not going to report any bugs, because this DM1 is not a one day or two days problem anymore.

Captain , I can only that the bugs you are finding are esoteric and up in the stratosphere, far above us simpler humans....

Yes, very inherent kind of bugs not just midi but also related with samples management and related with sounds tuning on tracks.

God!, how can this so great app has/had long term illness which is human or animal alike?

    I am so shocking....

Developer, you got to fix this legendary app.

I think you need to get round to their house. Take a sleeping bag, lots of coffee. I reckon a week would do it.

Johnny, I am trying to give a very good tutorial on Sonic Logic midi cc this app on AUM with DM1 sequencing with reliable MidiFlow app managing DM1 midi remapping setup to iELECTRIBE iPhone version, from which I intend to show this can be done to iElectribe sounds with Effectrix and Turnado.

I have not reaching the stage to Turnado and Effectrix. I have already felt I am bug avoiding. The sequencing tune is the best kind with fingers on DM1 drum track sequencers.

I have to say iElectribe can be melodically sequenced by DM1, the combined method will be giving so much fun to iElectribe (iPhone). Hopefully I can do it easily to deliver to forum for everyone to enjoy drumming experiences.

  • The setup and workflow management let me reinstall again, still the bugs around me. Yes, if I can have one week to help developer privately. But I think DM1 developer known the complexity. It is challenging because this is very programming kind of things to fix this unbeatable beast.

Captain, you lose me in but a few words. I am working on a song about grace and death, there are drums involved certainly, but they do little more than keep me in some sort of time. We are both right. I wish you the best of luck and would buy you some noodles to get you there if I could.

I will take few days to practice and re-thinking if this tutorial is worthy to take. The setup should be reliable enough to warrant a prize for everyone. If there is some repeating difficulties, I will let go of this setup for tutorial.

  • I have long loved DM-1 as my favorite stand-alone drum app. Thought getting Link would be the answer to my dreams... Instead...
I get that Link turns off the MIDI-Clock (it should) but TURNING LINK ON DISABLES ALL MIDI INPUT?
    Why would they do that?
Means I can't cue/record/play anything with the app running in the background! :anguished: :frowning:

The trick is to turn Link off. Hope this may help. :D

Link is useless, unless live playing with no midi connections.

Ok, you can make lively alignment on IAA playing internal sequencing sounds on AUM recording, then what else without midi on DM1?

Sorry to hurt your feeling perhaps?

Nothing to to with my personal feelings. @boberto states, that DM1 kills ALL MIDI inputs even when running in the background, which is a serious bug. And then you say, that LINK is useless with MIDI connections. A statement with which I strongly disagree. But I might have misunderstood you completely.

  • One thing I would like it be straight here. Look at how Korg have that iElectribe with Link implemented. iElectribe can be played with all sort of midi modulations with the Link connected. That makes a great differences.

That is why I say it is useless on DM1. So I take that 'bullshit' word accepted. I hope this language thingy can makes differences to DM1.

So I am very ok, @DeVlaeminck. Cheer up.

  • Ya, everything of Midi off by Link button. It is not bug, but that is the way it was developed.

  • I dunno if it's me, but when you Link sync DM 1(iPad)with the iPhone version of DM 1 with Link on the iPad, it doesn't sync together very well....... Slightly out of timing. Even just a simple 4 on the Floor beat.

  • having to choose between LINK and MIDI is really disapointing, I hope they can improve this

Not really true, that. I use Link to sync my iPads to Ableton Live, which is also sending MIDI clock to my hardware. The best way to keep the iOS and real drum machine worlds to play nice, as MIDI clock sync is still mostly disasterous on the former.

  • Air 2 / 9.3.2 & Dm1 latest update.

Anyone else getting this ? Bug or moi ?

Dm1 running in Aum alongside sample hoof, both apps running to dub filter on a bus.
Each time I switch back into Dm1 from Aum, Dm1 stops playing the pattern.
Tried it with both midi & link set ups, same behaviour.

  • Maybe silly answer, but check if background mode is on. After I downloaded the update, mine was set to off. Once on, it's ok.
