A Question for Amidio Regarding Drumfire.

Since the thread where I asked this question has been hijacked, I'll ask it again here.

@Amidio Which of the following features will you be including in the first few releases of Drumfire?

Pattern Sequencer.
24 instruments/multisample slots.
User loadable velocity mapped multisamples.
Fullly configurable pattern lengths, eg 3 to 64 beats. Not just a choice of time sigs.
Beat subdivision like Molten, 2 to 16 optional subdivisions?
Probability setting for each beat/subdivision. (Play/omit).
Velocity level setting for each beat. Perhaps using a popup 'draw graphic level' track?
Random velocity variance with configurable range per instrument/part.
Humanising timing randomiser with configurable amount and bias (ahead of beat/on beat/behind beat) per instrument/part.
Play mode loops and allows live changes of pattern.
Save/save as/load pattern.

Song Sequencer.
Arrange multiple patterns to form songs.
Master velocity level track. Again, draw graphic level.
Option to record live master velocity control changes.
BPM sequencing for tempo changes.
BPM change interpolation between values for gradual changes.
Option to record live BPM control changes.
Save/save as/load song.

Live performance pads (iPad).
Should be rectangular, with velocity mapped along long axis.
Ideally, two rows of 6 pads in landscape mode, with an extra bar along the bottom.
3 rows of 4 in portrait, plus bottom bar.
Each of the 12 pad's multisamples should be user loadable.
Bottom bar switches to a second set of 12 multisamples for duration of touch..

Working MIDI clock/sync.
Audiobus.

Thank you.

@Everybody_else I'd really like a clear answer to this from Amidio , so if the rest of you guys can refrain from chipping in until it's been answered, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

  • If they're not reading this, email them. They were always fast at getting back to me when I asked for a bunch of new features regarding Mint.IO, and after a few mails they implemented the things. So I think that's probably the best way to reach out to'em about features that would make their app(s) better.

    facepalm

  • If you're gonna face palm, do it correctly with a random Star Trek el capitan facepalming,

And again, email the devs if you want to keep it privately, and make sure they see it.

  • Well, firstly, this was originally a response to a post in this forum BY AMIDIO, which was getting buried by irrelevant wittering about a different app.
Secondly, it's not easy to suggest improvements to an app if nobody knows what it does, hence my question.
Thirdly, if you REALLY don't want to know what Drumfire is going to do, then I could take this private and keep the information to myself, but I figured other people might not feel the same way. It's probably just easier for you to ignore this thread if you don't wish to spoil the surprise...

I like surprises! I'm just telling you the best way to reach out to Amidio is via email, not doin threads on the Audiobus forum hoping people won't post in the thread right. I'm sure they'll be very appreciative getting suggestions/wish list sent to them, and have a way to get back to the person who asked for said features.

  • Seems like a fair question to me!

  • Fullly configurable pattern lengths, eg 3 to 64 beats
Random velocity variance with configurable range per instrument/part.

    great list Paul B

  • More spam... I'm getting really tired of seeing so much spam on this forum!

  • From Derek B in the "killer drum app" thread:"Ok here's the plan so far...well, what I can give away so far... "Drum Session" will include: 11 different styles of drums (pop, rock, jazz, funk, indie, punk, metal, etc) Over 3000 editable loops If you don't like the way your track sounds with the pre-determined kit, you can change to another kit (want to play your pop track with a funk kit) Create your own loops Drag/drop loops into timeline 2nd timeline for adding accents (playable on keyboard or drumkit view) Playable keyboard and drumkit for jamming or recording Background audio for building drum tracks while playing guitar/keyboard, etc. AudioBus support Copy/paste finished tracks Export to wav Connect to midi controller keyboard with full velocity ranges And a few more very cool surprises that will keep you coming back to this app daily!"

Doesn't sound to me like its the wonder app we're hoping for.

  • @eyeballjackson, maybe not "the wonder app," but it will likely great a great drum loop library, which I think will come in really handy. Derek has released countless audio demos of how fantastic his drums/loops sound (he's even given the first part away for free for import into Beatmaker 2. It is available for you to try it out for yourself. :-)

Like I said, it may not be what you are looking for, but it will likely be a useful addition. :-)

    --Sean

  • We all have different needs and wants. My point was, nothing he posted has anything to do with the functional features people were requesting in that thread.

  • Probably true... still a cool drum library though. ;-P

  • Well I have to apologize for confusing the upcoming "Drum Session" software with Amidio's "Drumfire. Sorry, Derek. My bad.

  • I'm guessing @PaulB has 'unbookmarked' this thread already! ;)

  • Yeah, you all failed... :)

  • @PaulB LOL, sorry about that. :-)

  • Trainwreck thread. But since we're on the subject, are there any Amidio apps that don't crash? Seline is AWESOME -but it crashes like an early Wright Brothers experiment. OMGuitar is pretty cool, but once again... Crash city. I can't imagine why they'd even release another app before addressing those serious issues... Seems to me that either 1)they need the funds from a new release to cover development costs for updates, or 2) they don't care about the issues, and intend to keep cranking out faulty apps that no professional would ever use and no consumer will be happy about.
