New look(s) for iElectribe

The ability to change the background picture in iElectribe opens up a lot of doors on the visual front. Nothing terribly wrong with the default red metal background, but I was bored as sin and it was really hot outside, so I ventured in and made a handful of backgrounds for the darling drum machine. Previews below, and if any of you want to take them for a spin you can download all of them here.

A couple of them are way over the top, but there are also some more subtle backgrounds in the zip file. Also, some of them require a change to the type color in iElectribe's appearance menu.

    Hey @brice
What a cool thing, already put the first one on (like getting a brand new iElectribe, which is so, so cool cause it's already a favorite app)

  • hey cool thanks! I just have a black metallic image that works pretty good. I'm going to try these out.

  • Wow, nicely done!

  • Good work Mister Brice.

  • Hi brice, thank you. Just changed to Ana.

  • Nicely done. Thanks!

  • Very nice. Are you a designer by trade?

I particularly like the last black and gold one.

  • how do you guys like iElectribe i have them both never used them. im not a step sequencer guy

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I was just playing with this the other day. The old red was getting a little stale. These look fantastic. Thanks again!!

I don't have the Gorillaz one on my iPad, but do have both iPhone and iPad versions on the pad.

I never use the sequencer, though I have, and had lots of live fun...
I love them for their sounds and use them exclusively as instruments in other sequencers or DAW. The sounds remind me of my Microsonc software on laptop.

  • Oh so you can use them inter app audio and audiobus?

    I am a sound whore

  • Great work!

  • Thanks for all the kind words. Glad to hear you guys are enjoying them! It's always nice to slap a new outfit on and old favorite.

Thanks Matt! I am a graphic designer, print and web primarily. But interface design has always had my heart. I make a lot of useless garbage in Reaktor just so I have a reason to design an interface for something. I get excited when I see an app that has the "change background picture" option. And I just realized exactly how pathetic that sounds. :|

Run iElectribe through some hefty parallel compression then turn up the tube gain. You just might become a step sequencer guy ;)

  • ^I get excited too. I understand

  • @brice these are incredible sire. I'm always amazed by just how much UI plays into the experience of Making Stuff (how does the native fire-engine-RED make one Feeeeel? (A: like putting on some sunglasses). New Life indeed here - Thank You.

PS- Love the worn-edge-metal detail on the multicolor skin.

  • WOW, thank you @brice for sharing, really beautiful designs...you're a genius :)
It's like having 8 different electribes

  • Well made! Thanks for sharing.

I use in IAA, one thing to know is they are dedicated to channel 10...

Sound wise a playground, and Korg high quality audio. For me a must have, if you dig drum synth tones. One of the great iOS apps from the beginning, @brice lovingly made and kickass lovely designs here are a clue to the kind of love the app inspires.

  • Wow. Big fan of the blue pinstripe Oberheimy one myself. Thanks for sharing!

  • Can user samples be loaded into these, yet?

If you mean iElectribe then no (unless there's some hack sorcery that I'm unaware of)

Thank you! @Proppa And yes, to some, the way a plugin / app "feels" is equally important to how it sounds. Especially if you're gonna be staring at it for hours on end!
