  • I use it too on my sax and it’s very warm and sweet sounding. Just buyed no limit and directional eq 50% off too.

  • Cool, I have completed my collection...nice to be able to have all app on one screen!

Neve emulation ... On an iPad. What a time to be alive.

    On your phone no less!

Did you notice that he did the single-perspective thing with the knobs? :)

Has Escher been helping with the graphics?

  • Maybe a blip/mistake or a really short sale or not in the US app store yet? I see the discount on appshopper but the app store is showing the regular price on both my desktop and my phone. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/6144-equalizer-by-ddmf/id1127457881 Hoped the sale might be true for their other apps too but no go... https://itunes.apple.com/us/developer/christian-siedschlag/id538434682

Anyone seeing the discount in the US at this point?

  • I’m seeing $9.99 in Brooklyn.

  • Seems to be already finished, same thing here in France. Ddmf website say its from 30 to 31 so perhaps just a bug?

  • Doh! Sale over here in Texas now too.

  • I did manage to get the directional EQ before the sale ended, which I really like. Very interesting control of spatial illusion and sounds very sweet.

However, I experienced some weirdness after install. It only worked once on a sound sample I loaded into AUM. After that it wouldn’t work with Blocs Wave or Launchpad as the source. Or anything else. Then, it wouldn’t work with my sample tracks either. I thought maybe I’d have to get a refund, but then I deleted it. Only, it wouldn’t delete. Stayed greyed out on the screen. After 2-3 more attempts I was able to get it to delete, did a hard restart and installed again. Worked great after that.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. At first I thought it was something wrong with my iPad 10.5 11.2.1 install , but it’s done the same thing on my iPhone SE with the same iOS.

I swear, iOS11.2.1 can be buggy as hell sometimes.

  • I suspect some f**k up here. The desktop versions are still on sale here in the UK.

  • For my sins I bought them all - I really need to quash this app buying.

    Just EQ it.

Surprisingly had very few AU EQ until now! From 2 to 4 in one fell swoop of the mid frequencies

  • Still on in UK

i must share a bit skepticism ... tried it but don't think it brings anything new what can't be done (and better) in classic parametric EQ .. maybe it's placebo effect of nice looking gui what works on some people :-)) .. i don't hear anything special.. just standard eq..

after half hour of comparing it with build in EQ in daw i use returned it to appstore..

  • Am I correct in saying that this has the GUI of the vintage Neve console eq but is built around the sound of the modern Portico eq?

  • @skiphunt not that it would explain app being grayed out etc, but egen it comes to Blocs/Launchpad I seem to recall a bug in them where they basically don’t route the audio back to AUM, thereby bypassing it. I think @j_liljedahl has pointed this out to the Blocs guys and I haven’t seen a fix for it yet (though I might have missed it).

I doubt it is placebo, it is one of the uggliest UIs around and looks even worse on iPad than it does on desktop, but it does sound nice when boosting, which is a big part of its charm.

not sayin it looks super nice :-) just in my experience people tend to "hear" things which aren'tactually there in case that UI looks like some famous hardware box :-)

anyway, just shared my experience after a bit comparimg equalising same material using this EQ and some other parametric eq.. maybe that "mojo" is just under treshold of my ears and my headphones (HD 650)

  • I was playing with AD 480 reverb and DDMF Directional EQ on one of the iSymphonic choirs last night and it was sounding very good.

  • It’s great having all these nice fx on iOS, but my Air2 is feeling the strain at times :p

I noticed that. Even after reinstalling, it doesn’t behave well with Blocs or Launchpad. Works great with everything else though. Thx

I’m really diggin this directional EQ a lot. Seems incredibly unique in the level of control it offers you to shape the spatial illusion of specific frequencies without sounding like strange effect.

You have to launch blocs wave before adding it in AUM and it will be routed correctly, this works while we wait for bug fix update.

About Enveloppe in AUM knobs are laggy in full screen mode landscape mode or bigger window on iPhone. Anybody has this issue?

This AU sounds really very very good!! I like very much 6144 which adds nice color and is ultra smooth, same thing with the compressor which is warm and not harsh, and Directional EQ is very interesting from the tests I’ve done. No limit seems less convincing, as some knobs don’t give significant audible results, and it’s not that warm. A little bit frustrated by this one, but perhaps I miss something and have to learn to use it. I have to try Maxima, but for sure expensive Lurssen Mastering Console sounds great even if I don’t buy this one yet.

  • The directional Eq is amazing, I was working with dusty old piano samples last night that really had no definition.
All scratchy high mids and fizzy top. I was able to pull out frequencies that were not there ,and give the sample some clarity and tone. It’s an exceptional eq.
