@funjunkie27 WHY???
Why would they develop such a thing....or why did I show it to you? In the case of the latter....I promise that I don't get any kickbacks. ;-) Misery loves company, but so does being broke!
It's the latter. Thanks. I'm beginning to really dislike kick starter projects. Too much anticipation. Lol. Just take my money, but don't torture me. I may never have to Come out of my walkin closet studio with this keyboard.
My money was on the latter. I'm tempted as well, but I still haven't taken the plunge on the Jamstik.
Looks beautiful from a hardware perspective. The Bluetooth I/O concerns me because of latency, etc.
I really enjoyed the video demonstration and tech walkthrough; very detailed and interesting. The magnetically repulsed keys is a really elegant and brilliant solution for the weighted-key feel.
The keyboard-doubling idea is also brilliant. Buy 2, get a 4-octave keyboard. Buy 3, get 6-octave. Wow. That has real potential when (if) they release the versions with hardware control knobs, etc on the top deck of the keyboard. Buy one with the electronic ribbon, one with control knobs, and one with pads. Woot.
have the same dimention of the keyboard on the screen....why I must buy it, for the cover?
I think now the only one is the Qunexus (poly channel pressure)...for me
My iPad is 9.5 inches wide... Will two octaves really fit in that space?? What is the usual width for a 25 key controller? I mean, width of the actual keyboard, not the body of the controller
Anyway, they're doing something right, it's set to be backed within a few days. Already 30% there mid-way thru day 1.
I'm not sure what the width of a standard controller is, and it seemed cramped to me. The magnetic keys concept was certainly interesting, and I'd love to check that out prior to dropping any money. I've heard that midi over bluetooth shouldn't be bad on latency, but I can't recall where I had seen that.
I just remembered that since I use an iPad Mini the case thing won't work for me and it will be pretty much just like my MPK Mini (awesome design aside). Frown.
And it's Bluetooth 4.0, so iPad 1 or 2 users will have to use USB cable with CCK.
Jesse, how many inches wide is the keyboard for the MPK mini? Just curious for comparison.
@Hmtx the keyboard on my MPK mini is 11.5" exactly from C to C. I find it quite comfortable to play, but I have no formal training in piano and basically just experiment with chords and melodies.
I must say +1 for bluetooth and no wire....the first problem with iPad and controllers is the charge and usb powered hub
I want one, waaah!
I've actually been to the Miselu offices and had a look at their prototypes and spoke with them about their vision.
I've ordered one.
I did too.
Me too. Can't wait.
It's gonna be a long summer and fall!
I see that they're 2/3rds of the way to their target after three days.
I want the clear one!
This is moving very fast.
Project Update #2: Our Kickstarter campaign hits 100%
Posted by Miselu
This is really amazing! In less than a week we reached our campaign goal. We are thrilled about your support.
The campaign is still going strong with 20 days to go and there are even units left at $99.
We also had some rather positive press since the launch.
"This is arguably the most innovative thing to happen to compact keyboard actions in years," says Time Magazine.
Engadget, Mashable, USA Today and Nikkei, among others, have also weighed in quite favorably.
We are currently working on a series of videos that show the C.24 in action and will publish them in the next couple of weeks.
Again, thanks to everyone for pledging and supporting us.
Did you get your yet @mgmg4871??
Lol. Not yet but couldn't pass up investing.
I hear ya....it sounds too cool to pass up for me.
I've been curious about how devs will use the hardware expansion on the c.24. Has anyone found anything on that?
Any idea if this will be usable simultaneously with another brand of keyboard? Would love to be able to use this AND my MPK Mini at the same time. Ideally with different MIDI routing per keyboard.
I snatched up one of the last 100 "Early Supporter" spots, this will be my first keyboard and will be great because I can take it to work and use it!!! Excited and its already surpassed its funding goal in a matter of days!
@jessie_ohio - since the c.24 uses Bluetooth, I would expect you'll be able to add other keys in via an audio intact or cck.
Thanks. I figured as much but just wanted to make sure since it would be a big factor in my decision to buy.
I tweeted that Q to Miselu and they just responded as well:
