  • I love these apps! Clawtar is crazy. It's so cool how it conforms to how you place yer fingers on the screen.

  • Grabbing Clawtar, recommending ChordUp

  • Snagged! No idea what they do but free and exclamation points!!!!!!!

  • Chordup is awesome. A great member of the chord family comprising soundprism, chordion, navichord, etc

  • You're fast...Thanks for the heads up!!!

  • I had ChordUp already and when the ChordUp & Clawtar demo came out I though it would be just an alternate layout for ChordUp...

  • Had Clawtar. Dig it, but loving Chordup. Thanks!!!

  • Nice find. I had a feeling ChordUp was something I could use, and now I'm a little guilty I didn't pay for it. I don't compose on the phone much but this may change that some. Makes nano Gadget one hell of a lot more useful.

Clawtar is actually much more clever than I thought when it first came out. Practice pays off here, as it's undoubtedly superior to your average screen keyboard, but it will take time to master and I didn't even have time to write this comment. Gotta go...

  • @High5denied - Thanks for the heads up :+1:

  • yeah, thank you, High5denied

  • thanks!

  • A nice move from the developer. Very generous.

  • You bet guys! I don't feel bad at all for paying for either of these apps, they are worth the price, and fun fun fun to play :)

  • Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but can somebody help me control gadget using clawtar or chordup. I thought it would be a pretty basic set up but I've tried multiple things and can't get it to work

There are two options how you can connect ChordUp or Clawtar to other apps:
    1. If the other app, you want to connect to, 'advirtises' its own virtual input midi port, you will be able to see it in the list of midi devices in ChordUp or Clawtar. And after selecting it you should be able to play the other app.
    2. Some apps(e.g Garageband) don't register input virtual ports, instead they themselves listen to all output ports. In this case in the list of midi devices in Clawtar or ChordUp you need to select "ChordUp midi out" or "Clawtar midi out" respectively.

I don't remember which kind of connection gadget supports, I don't have my iPad with me now. I will check it for sure when I return home from the work.

Also, I believe in all synth/sampler apps, there is a setting called 'Enable background audio'. It should be enabled. Otherwise the OTHER app could not produce any sound when in the background.

PS: if you like the apps, and want to support future developments, please consider rating them in the AppStore :) Thanks!!!

  • Yes, rate these apps and all yer others! If you've left a review in the past, it's as easy as touching/clicking "write a review", and then hittin the "send" button again. BAM! A new old review is posted. ;)

  • Love ChordUp but wishing that you could use it with an external MPD midi input

  • @High5denied thanks much for the heads-up, I probably would have missed these going free. @ChordUp - thank you for the freebies and especially for making some very useful and cool apps!

  • Cheers for that info!

  • Thank you Dmitry Klochkov

  • Brilliant. Thanks.

Please Dmitry, consider adding a recorder or at least AB to ChordUp. That will always be the fastest way to save ideas.> @ChordUp said:

  • ChordUp works really well, like it. Would be nice to have the option to add a couple more notes - so six for guitar chords for example. Would happily pay for the update.

  • I love both these apps. But I seem to be unable to adapt to playing them properly. Keyboard playing is too ingrained in me I guess :( my friends love toying with both on my iPads though....

Done for both apps. I have had ChordUp since its introduction, but thanks for the gift of Clawtar!
