I wonder why, despite claims that Kamata is much more than a chip tune synth (and I don't necessarily doubt this), there are no demonstrations of its capabilities anywhere. All the YouTube and soundcloud demos are bog-standard coin-op ditties and sound fx. This is what's still putting me off a purchase.
Seconded.
Ps: I realize what I'm saying is, Hey, somebody make me a video, like, now, so I can buy this gadget at the sale price!
just skip it. If nothing said so far strikes your fancy then it probably isn't something you need. No one really needs Kamata. It's just kinda fun.
I did this little test with it which is all Kamata apart from the pulsing sound and the drums + lots of insert FX. It's an interesting synth but kind of limited. If they had extended the concept and added a filter it would be much more useful.
For those still on the Kamata fence, two demos I posted before.
Layered with Darwin to add some lo-fi digi harmonics:
Here it's layered with Chiang Mai:
I use Kamata to add some rough digital edge to cleaner sounds.
It has a bit of a PPG, Casio CZ vibe to it. Automating the wavetable selection is fun.
@Mark B @R_2 Ah....thanks, this gives me much more of an idea of how it sounds. So, essentially - for me - it'd just be a slightly less featured Nave or Addictive Synth, only with the advantage of being tightly integrated in Gadget.

And here's the Kamata track:
