That seems like a pretty cool option to have in the arsenal of cool options. But am I reading the app page correctly; that I have to pay $10 for 125 minutes of usage, and then pay $10 again and again to use the app in 125 minute intervals? Please tell me I am reading that wrong! Out of all the fucked up pricing schemes I've seen or read about for iOS apps...this is by far and away THE most fucked up of them all!
The Audreio Plugin is awesome. I dont like to many audio wire...check it out!
Audreio plug-in is designed to stream high quality audio (16-bit over Wifi, 32-bit over cable) from one computer to another computer or to an iOS device running Audreio iOS. If you’re streaming audio between projects/devices set to different sample rates, Audreio will automatically convert the audio to match the receiver’s sample rate and channel count. The Audreio plug-in can be downloaded in AudioUnit format (for Mac OS X hosts such as Logic, Live, Studio One, and Digital Performer), VST3 64-bit and VST2 64-bit (for Mac OS X or Windows hosts such as Cubase, Studio One, FL Studio, and SONAR), and an AAX version will be released in the near future.
Audreio Plugin Overview
If you’re sending a mono audio stream to a stereo receiver Audreio will copy the data into both channels. If sending a stereo signal to a mono receiver, Audreio will sum the signal and send a mono stream to the receiver.

Then check out studiomux or Music IO which do the exact something but but cost 9.99 instead of the pay per usage plan.
Audreio does it over wifi vs a USB cable. I'm not sure why you'd want to do it over wifi vs USB but there's that. They also offer point-to-point globally over the interwebs. Or so it seems—not a customer.
Got it. So the options are:
Damn that's a toss up
I did understand this differently: as long as you have a local connection (be it WiFi or cable, iPads or Computers), all is well. The per-minute-pricing only relates to NON-LOCAL connections (over internet). Did I understand this wrongly...?
What I DID try was iPad to iPad, which works beautifully, and without any cost at all. I like it and think I'll buy the plugin, just to say thanks to the developer...
Good times, cheers, t
Hmmm, I just want to stream audio from ipad to PC over cable but it would cost $25 to even try and I had no luck streaming Studiomux on my iPad Air to PC without glitches so I didn't even try Music IO. I don't want to pay $25 to get the same result.
Now ipad to ipad over a single cable would be ballerz
Can anyone comment on what the latency would be in the wifi streaming?
According to the app description it depends heavily on your network / router settings. And in my experience with other wi-fi audio / MIDI streaming this statement is very true. Can't speak directly about this app. But definitely consider that it will ultimately depend on such things.
After realizing the app is free I downloaded and tried it for myself, the latency is very good as long as you're not running anything but the app that's generating your sounds and Audreio. I did manage to get it working within AUM but when I tried to port AUM into Audiobus it was too much.
Still this could be very useful. If I output my iphone into my laptop, I could send wireless sound from my ipad into my laptop. Or vice versa, I could have sounds running on my laptop being sent to my ipad. ApolloSI does this and has been around for a while, but Audreio appears to be much more reliable.
Looks to be the local ios to ios is free, the PC plugin is $25, and you pay by the minute for internet streaming.
iConnectAudio 2 and 4 will do this. Two cables and a big dongle (the box) I guess but pretty close!
The 2 does look snazzy and nice price.
I gave it a try over wifi with an ipad 4 and air 1. Been looking for a way to record audio digitally off one ipad onto another. Tried for an hour wireless streaming both ways, over wi-fi (netgear 55 router) couldn't get acceptable performance. Latency would be good for a minute, then creep in until it is a second behind. Wireless audio, and especially with a pit stop at a router in between devices, might just suck in general. I would look at the iconnect stuff for routing two ithings to one another. Looks like wires will be around for a little longer.
