New FREE drum kit in DrumJam

Just wanted to let you folks know that we released Pete Lockett's custom drum kit as free download within DrumJam!

The Contraption is a custom Mapex kit with a variety of cymbals and percussion, featuring a shallow 12” bass drum played by hand (well, stick).

Here are some videos featuring this kit in action (in real life):

Grab it from the Drum Store within the preferences area.

This one is just a single kit (pad instrument), called Contraption. Or are you asking about others?

Hmm, I just tried something, give it another shot in about 10 minutes, be sure to kill and restart the app.

  • Ok that worked ;at first it said "buy" .....this time it's said "free" and it downloaded fine and sounds great love that thunder kick drum . Thanks again for a wonderful app sonosaurs!!

  • Downloaded. Huge fan of DrumJam!

  • And it keeps beautifully Linked time with Blocs in AUM.....hey it may be lonely in the house, but the one man band's in perfect sync :)

  • Another quality kit. As was said above, everyone interested in IOS music making should buy DrumJam and ThumbJam, too. Always good to work with. Thanks.

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks. Summer gift!

  • Thank you!!

  • Cool, thank you

  • Nice, thx!

  • I did write lots more praise but it was cut off by an illegal smilie :p

  • Drumadex is complete, once again, thanks!

  • Great kit. Thanks!

  • The drumkits in DrumJam really are amazing...I find them extremely responsive even with the touch pads and they feel very life-like.

My one remaining gripe with DrumJam, which I believe is still the case, is that rhythm generation stuff where you drag instruments onto a grid and then the app creates a rhythmic beat is still very "world beats" focused. I think you can get a bass drum and maybe a snare and some hats on there, but it was missing toms, or something like that.

I'd like to revisit DrumJam and hope that they expand the rock/pop capabilities of the app, because creating/programming rhythm patterns really is the Achilles Heel of my already-limited musical abilities.

While they've made some strides in this direction, I'm afraid it's a fair comment. Further IAP opportunity?

  • Great drum kit! Great app! I've already got all expansions within and I think that I will not be able to resist another expansions! Thank you!!!

Totally agree, though when you're on 16 gb model it's pretty hard to be with all 300+ mb apps you need :)
