Ah.... It's the only thing that will keep my finger away from the trigger. I regret so much not being able to build a "simple but complete" kit in RDM with at least : 1 kick, 1 snare, 1 HH (foot, closed, mid, open), 3 toms, 1 ride, 1 splash, 1 crach and 1 slot for a percussion.
what are you recording into?
You could always just link 2 iPads to get more variation.... That's what I'm doing anyways. Have 2 iPads connected to an inconnectaudio4+ so have a second instance being fed on a different channel in AUM. More than enough variation there. Or I use drumjam to add bits like African percussion etc...
also you could make a request for audio export so that you could play an exported loop in whatever you're recording in and also continue to play the app!!
Cubasis most of the time... But that's not the real problem.
It's true that I have many solutions to "add" parts, but it would be so much easy to be able to build a complete kit in the app.
I really like RDM for it's ability to produce real sounding groovy rythms, but so far I've only used it as tool to practice my guitar. For the "more serious work" I use other apps (mostly DPP) but would certainly not if RDM would allow me to have a complete kit.
Then again, I have played with a few drummers over the years that brought kick, snare, hat, ride to gigs and it was awesome. This was rock, not jazz, so just hard driving time, not many fills, very grooving.
