App to practice sight reading on guitar?
What's the best app to practice sight reading on guitar? My primary goal is just to learn the fretboard better, but while I'm working on that, I might as well practice notation too. I was going to make flashcards, but then I realized someone has probably already done this for iPhone. The most promising app I've seen so far is http://appshopper.com/music/guitar-sight-reading-fretboard-trainer.
At first, I envisioned using this in bed or between students during office hours. But I wonder: is there an app that will flash a note and then listen on the microphone for me to play that note on my actual guitar?

This is more scales oriented, but it does listen to what you play and scores by accuracy.

Progression by NOTION Music, Inc.

this is the scaled down guitar/ bass version of Notion & has many uses .
It provides scoring & tablature with a visual fretboard , can import midi & tab & has a play engine . There is also a piano keyboard .
I find this very useful , although you may feel it more worthwhile to buy the full orchestral version Notion if you have wider instrumentation plans for the future .
Guitar and Piano chord practice a la "flash cards" available online here: http://chordpractice.com
^^^ ok sorry , I missed your self testing request & just recommended Progression generally
It wont generate random notes to test you , although being able to play the guitar engine from the notation or fretboard does help with ear training .
@grizzlegritz - that a great link - Thanks
