NanoKEY studio

A little OT but has anyone had luck connecting the Korg nanoKEY studio to a Mac using Bluetooth. I've a MacBook Air 2012 running Bluetooth ver 4 and I've d/l the korg Bluetooth app. I have no trouble connecting via Bluetooth to iOS but to the Mac the device shows up in the korg Bluetooth app but when I hit connect nothing shows up in any of my music software. No connection.

  • Does the 2012 Air use BTLE? My 2012 Retina MBP does, but it was the first of the MBPs to do so.

I got the nanokey studio yesterday so I'll test it with my Mac and see if I have the same issue.

Will have to check that myself when I get home . Curious to see how you make out as well.
    Thanks!

Check your Air's "about this Mac" system report. In the Bluetooth section, the version has to be 4.x for it to work with BTLE devices.

  • I have. If your Bluetooth checks out, let me know, and I'll pull mine out and see if I can walk you through it.

  • So I checked my MacBook and its BLE enabled and its version 4.0 (0x6). So I should be good to go. Not sure the problem. Any help appreciated.
    Cheers

  • Get a PC, they're easier to use. :p

  • I just tried this on my MBP and it worked. Installed the Korg Bluetooth app from the App Store, connected instantly to the nano, which showed up as MIDI options in Live. Not sure what's going wrong your end :/

  • Thanks, yeah have the korg Bluetooth app when I click connect it displays "connecting" for 20 secs then reverts and the nano doesn't show up in MiDI options in Live. Oh well I can still use it with the USB connection the Bluetooth works fine on iOS. Cheers.
