Wizdom stuff
Reply by Mr Rudess to Tim Webb (Discchord)
Hey Tim and all! The good news is that Geo Synthesizer, SampleWiz and MorphWiz have now all been submitted to the store with AudioBus!
Its a matter of time until they finally are all on the bus!
Thanks-
JR
Excellent, as Mr Burns would say
Comments
That is excellent!
I've been waiting for this! :-) The developer of Thumbjam (Sonosaurus) did the development work for this. :-)
@funjunkie have you looked at Jordan Rudess's EarWizard. It's the only ear training of chords that keeps me coming back. You can dl for free but full content is IAP.
I just downloaded it @mgmg4871, but I'm working now, so I won't be able to test drive for 6-7 hours probably. Thanks for pointing it out!
Fantastic!
Great news! The Wizdom apps are some of my first music apps. I am glad to hear that.
Nice app for ear training, and as, I believe, @mgmg4871 said in another thread, it's worth getting just to watch Jordan. What does the IAP give you....is it just access to all the levels?
Yes. It gives access to all levels and more content.
Thanks @mgmg4871. Now to find a lender who will consider app loans ;-)
great - i bought all of them, can't wait to see them o n the auiobus
thx !
Great news, Geo was one of my fav apps pre-AB but fell into non-use of late due to lack of AB. Be good to revisit it.
Fantastic news..Samplewiz is such a great sampler and Geo is the best synth to shred on ever..
Its a great mono sampler. You have to drench it in delay to get any width. Other great apps like Samplr, Thumbjam actually work with a stereo sample.
Agreed, although the initial Audiobus release of Samplewiz will still be mono sampling, I'm pretty sure Jordan plans on updating it to stereo a bit later. We just wanted to get them all out ASAP at first.
Mono is complete nonsens, why not doing the work right?
Most instruments are mono! A trumpet is mono, a guitar (natively) is mono, a violin is mono. Doesn't seem to have done them much harm.
@thomashaake By and large, stereo is pointless prior to mixing unless you are recording a spatially separated group of sound sources in one stereo feed, or you have added a live stereo effect that supplies different signals to the left and right channels. Single sound sources are best recorded in mono prior to placement in the stereo field on mixdown. Otherwise, all you are doing is doubling the resources required for recording, processing and playback.
Agreed, but by the time sound sources (Nave patches, Loopy mixes, Thumbjam jams, etc) get put into the sampler they have a lot going on in the overall space. Not everyone works strictly with mono sources or even live recordings. No reason to flatten your mixed sound in order to play around with it in a sampler. Newer iDevices have plenty of resources to handle stereo.
@PhilW, I don't see your point, so we should stop mixing and post producing in stereo? Why don't you try plugging one ear and see if it makes any difference to the sound of your trumpet or guitar...
Interesting points
Less is more....erm sometimes..
Then again in IOS terms I would like to sample the likes of Alchemy and various other Stereo apps in full stereo.
Currently sequencing them side by side is still extremely limited (for me anyway) on IOS.
I would love Auria or Cubasis to introduce a sampler akin to Eden in Nanostudio for a more complete solution.
@smeeeth What PaulB said!
Actually, I was forgetting the whole "sampling someone else's work" scenario, which, natch, you'd want to do in stereo. However, SampleWiz has never been the ideal tool for that kind of approach.
@PaulB ...but it's sure been a convenient way to hack out a new sound that you want to quickly use in a song. ;-)
@PaulB yes, "single sources" are best in mono. Well maybe because of its nature of only one sound source :-) however, what about wizdom stuff like samplewiz -best in mono? GeoSynth same, best in mono?
If Jordan gets the offer to buy either a mono or a stereo synth, what would he take if the sounds are comparable?
Ask him
What about choosing between a stereo Casio keyboard and a mono MiniMoog?
@thomashaake JR doesn't have to buy his synths!
SampleWiz first out, updated with Input and Output (simultaneously) support.
Edit: MorphWiz also updated actually (and something about a removed internal sequencer?)
MorhpWiz worth it if you already have Bebot? Can you create your own presets in MW?
Your best option is to email the MorphWiz developer...
OK, so why should I buy Geosynth?

'Cos it's a fabulous midi controller, easily the best shredder. And if you have samplewiz you can port your sounds straight into it
