Pistols at dawn, I'll send my seconds, for love and MOOG.

  • I loved this app so much when I first bought it, and began to love it even more after purchasing the IAP's. Those are generally all really good (not a huge fan of the Grateful Dead one).

I am so cheap and dogmatic about ambush IAPs, but that midi out was a valuable purchase. It is a beautiful app. But I so wish it had a transport for use in modstep.
And @Seangarland: are the expansion packs really that different? Hard to find any examples on YouTube, strangely.

  • I like it, maybe I love it. But....... I don't use it much. Puzzling to me, except that I have all these new shiny synths, that I forget to take out the ol' classic and give it a go.

  • It's one of a small number that hangs around in my wish list, hoping for a convergence of a sale and the spare quids. :) But one day, I'll likely pull that trigger.

The Monster MOOG and the Richard Devine ones are good. Disclaimer: I'm not much for creating my own presets in Animoog, so these provide some really nice options for me.

I'd just love to hear some examples of those. Also, there are tons of free exapnsions on the Animoog Love website, but getting them onto the ipad and into Animoog always sounds like an arduous process....

  • Well done. Never occurred to me that the company that made the thing might actually highlight the expansion packs.

Yes, using iTunes and my PC is a real bummer. It would be nice if they could implement the same smooth process as they've created with the Model 15 app. Adding presets there is a breeze.

  • Never really did it for me.

I'm not even a minuscule fan of the Grateful Dead, but I found the Grateful Dead IAP to be surprisingly good ( it sounds nothing like the Country Bear Jamboree)

Anybody know the shortest route from downloading presets to playing live?

  • I remember that a paid $1 for Animoog when it came out in 2011...
Thing's have changed since then ;-)

Thanks, that's good to know as I'm just like you in that regard!

Same here. I didn't even own an iPad yet but knew it was a steal so bought it anyway. I was very very right. I love Animoog an awful lot. One slight wish: that the ipad version had the one-tap jumps to Filter/Delay/etc like the phone version has instead of two separate scrollers.

  • I loved animoog first! She will be mine!

  • I am also not a "from scratch" kinda guy with animoog but the presets are great and easy to make your own. I think it is my favourite synth on my iPad, gets way more use than nave for example, and I find it more useful in a mix too.

  • One of my first. And still....having fun.

I love animoog, too, probably my most used synth. I bought the MIDI out IAP long ago, in a quest to record animoog's output and tinker with it, but I lost my expectations of coming up with anything useful in no time. It seems no app on iOS can capture the whole lot that is going on (poly aftertouch and all), and so I gave up. Maybe with a desktop it would go easier? I never tried, but things have come a long way since that.

Is it worth the effort to give it another try? I mean, just record yourself sliding the finger like crazy on animoog, is there an app that will record that midi and be able to reproduce the same sound by feeding that midi back to animoog? I think not, but please tell me I'm wrong.

As it is I only record the audio (same for model 15) but it would be nice to be able to edit it afterwards.

  • @pedro I was surprised to find out that Auria Pro actually captures the full expression of an Animoog performance to MIDI!

  • This is the only app I use 100% of the time that I use any IPAD making music.

    EVERY TIME.

I am just finishing an entirely brand new custom timbre pack and associated preset bank.

It should be ready for release in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

ANIMOOG LOVE is the site you need to go if you are into ANIMOOG.

I love now having a daily threesome with MODEL 15.

    I always finish first.

Like you I always use animoog but didn't know of this site. Thanks :)

  • Yeah, it's far and away my number one, with Model 15 a close second.

These days, I rarely mess with the other 20+ synths I have cause I know how to get exactly what I want out of both of them.

  • Don’t forget my WTFknobs on Animoog abuse:
    (the public version)
(a later version which I didn’t make public because my mic was set incorrectly)

    Being a deadhead, was disappointed.
