Sent my Minirig back, wasn't impressed with the sound quality at all.

    Was it defective?
What'd ya end up getting instead?

I bought it for music making but it sounded awful - tested it with iTunes and loads of other stuff but it was no better so asked for a replacement. They refused and said they'd only repair it, so after a bit of a heated exchange I got a refund instead.

Mine was the wired version so maybe the Bluetooth version sounds better. I gave up on the portable speaker option, and now either use my iPad with phones or via my Orange bass combo - which sounds amazing.

A reviewer notes that the bluetooth minirig has been improved1 with an analog circuit2 for dynamic sound adjustment that removes tinniness at low levels.

Two mini rigs and a sub does sound a bit messy Not to mention the price would make the ILoud a much more affordable price with better sound and less hassle.

Not to mention lighter with a 50 Hz frequency response. Although the weight of all of them is fairly easy to handle for anyone over the age of 5 to be honest. Then there is the built in audio interface of the ILoud which really is a handy and convenient extra.

  • I think marshall kilburn or even stockwell will make fill up your dreams. They're incredible durable, both portable and have amazing audio performance. The stockwell is smaller and of course the kilburn's features are better, as well as sound quality. So, yeah, I'd go with kilburn.
