Modstep SCAM
Got scammed for an app that doesn't do what it's supposed to do,crashes, midi not recording, apps going to sleep, having to reboot. No reply to support and can't even get a beta that's a little bit stable.£14.99 down the drain.I know there are a couple of fanbois here that'll jump up to defend them blah blah blah, you know what I don't give a f**k,it is what it is...SCAM.I had enough of this i need a refund.I'm off to Apple support.

Maybe you're just dumb?
Ignore.
Thank you assh***
Well, I think you've sorted this out then!
R u alright in the head? What possessed you to write that? It is better for people to think you're a fool than to willingly prove it?
Nothing to defend, but what you say here is not my experience at all...I can record midi in, I haven't had crashes in several versions, am testing a beta that's sorted the AUx and app opening issues...what iOS are you on and which device?
As far as recording midi, the clip has to be playing, it has to be armed, the midi in selected, and the app (IAA at least) or out board device had to be aimed at Modstep...
I agree that Modstep is tetchy, but once you get into its crazy internal logic, it's pretty remarkable. I know that a lot of people are creatively freed by AUM, but for me, Modstep is the quickest way to tons of useful variations. The clip launching I find thrilling (don't have Ableton myself; I gather it's similar).
The only downside is that you really can't complete a project in Modstep.
But @Kkani, I understand your frustration. I actually got a refund myself, but I couldn't let it go and bought it again at the most recent update.
iPad mini 9.3.2 and mini 4 9.3.3 and I have tried all the tricks with midi and from my google seaches I am not alone.Thing is I'm tired of looking for solutions and devs can't be bothered as far as i'm concerned.Glad that it works for you. Thanks for being matured in your response at least there are good and sensible people on this forum.
Apps are weird. Sometimes one person has issues with an app that most others on an exact same setup don't have. Could be for a variety of reasons - corrupt download, glitch in their hardware/iOS etc. it's happened to me, in an old version of myself I complained about issues with apps that no-one else was experiencing. I'd go back and try again - problem still there. Then others would report an issue that I couldn't reproduce - just a glitch in the iOS ecosystem.
Best thing to do is get a refund, kick it off your pad and move on. If it's not fun, it's not worth your time.
BEST TYPO EVER
Same here. Eventually just deleted the app in question and gave up. Some things just are not worth stressing over.
One of the reasons I spend my time with Gadget, BeatHawk or Caustic these days is because they just work and I can make music with them instead of trying to figure out how to integrate a bunch of different apps.
I think Modstep is great but I don't use it anymore because I just don't have the time or patience when things don't work as I expect them to.
Typo? I do believe you've edited something out there dear chap.
"in an older version of myself..."
Yeah yeah, I saw it the first time man, no need to shout. As I said in an earlier version of this response, what typo?
I suppose — if we're really going to get in the weeds here — it is not a typo but a syntax error. I just thought it was funny. Wasn't trying to make fun of you. Thought it was revealingly awesome.
He meant it as it's written, another way of saying "I used to...but now I..." Or "before I went in for my Pro-Self Upgrade, my LE-Self would always..."
It's a pleasure, sorry I couldn't be of any help.
I think @MonzoPro hit the nail on the head, things are weird.
Yeah, but my misreading is funnier.
Guys, c'mon, we're talking about a real tragedy here. Someone has been SCAMMED out of $15. And you're joking around about typos?! Please, a little sympathy and respect for the victim, and outrage toward the vicious scammers. Can we get back on topic and get to organizing the lynching party? This evil must be crushed before it claims any more victims.
Thank you LD.
Mighty fine advice. I'm getting that on a t-shirt.
Are you alright in the head for thinking that app crashing with YOUR ipad is a scam? Only bug i encountered with it was that the loading of new session made the whole app freeze(that was the first time i tested the app), but reinstalling it took away the problem.
Downloading my own Pro-Self® firmware Update as we speak, though my self-server's all gltched up.
I'm coming out of beta now, everything seems to be working carrot/¥$$> variegated spleen (7)
Shhhhhhsshhh......if the universal programmer gets wind......we will all get deleted.....well eventually anyway.
I'm getting an "older version of myself" t-shirt made.
Upon first reading, I thought that SCAM was a new Modstep feature.
Nevermind...
Reminder that anyone who defends Modstep is naught but a 'fanboy,' which sounds familar somehow...
Brother, you are one of my favorite posters here, but maybe that was a wee bit harsh?
Or maybe not.
hey! I joined this forum to bash the impc pro, I didn't sign up for this
