Convert 432hz loops to 440 hz?

Does anyone know of an ios app that lets me convert audio files that were recorded with instruments tuned to 432 hz to loops with a 440hz tuning?

Many apps have pitch shifting. But the problem would be to get it up exactly 7hz, not sure if there is some app that can do that, but you could always try to find the right amount using a tuner and some 432hz beeeeeeeeeeep sound. Maybe someone else has a app in mind that can do it easier.

  • I'd say do it on desktop, using a wave editor like sound forge or wave lab. Even audacity can do this, but bare in mind that you'll mess up the formants of the original audio, although just 7Hz ain't probably noticeable.

  • You need a quality software in any case - the process is highly critical.
Audacity will spoil the signal for shure (I assume this is about high quality audio)
Anytune (Pro) does adjustments in 1/100 of a halfstep, you have to calculate that to hertz

    cheers, Tom

  • The next chromatic note a half-step down from 440 is 415 (Baroque pitch!), so 30 steps. If Anytune (Pro) adjusts in 1/100 of a half-step then each of those 30 is 3.333 Anytune units. To boost 432 to 440 we need to go up 8 units, so 8 * 3.333 = 26.6666 Anytune units.

  • Thank you all for your explanations and suggestions. I'll try if I can reach some satisfying results.
