Flöjten - Gadget Figure iRig Pads │ haQ Live performance

Flöjten means "the flute" in Swedish and It's a pretty fitting name for this hip-hop track. I am using an iRig Pads controller and the Bilbao gadget to chop up a flute sample, from a Loopmasters (Indian Emotions) sample pack.

Both Allihoopa Figure and KORG Gadget are loaded up into Audiobus input slots. The audio is then being routed and recorded directly into Audio Mastering by Igor Vasiliev.

  • Fantastic! First: you restore my faith in sampling from presets!
What's the process of chopping in Bilbao? Does one hit choke off the next? Or does each decay naturally?

  • Thanks..

  • Thought it was going to go into mission impossible there.
Even better. Cool stuff man. Thanks for posting.

  • Fantastico! Bravo! Wunderbar!

  • @ExAsperis99 Your first assumtion was actually correct. I've put all of the first eight pads in choke group "A" so that they cut each other off. I was lucky though, usually one can get a lot of clipping. I also used the reverb inside Bilbao.

  • @RajahP @Redo1 @ErrkaPetti Thank you, glad y'all like the little performance. =D

  • Wow. That was freaking awesome. I need some details :) because I have no idea how to make that type of music really.

    • are those 8 samples from some dusty record you found in your attic and sampled or are they just 8 chords from Alchemy or something?
    • or is it just one sample pitched up and down?
    • Actually they aren't single notes/chords are they? Each sample sounds like it's actually a little phrase (maybe?)
    • Are they the 8 notes/chords of a scale? (Actually that contradicts my previous point - damn. I'm confused).

So they all choke each other. Cool.

And the one pad you keep playing continuously chokes itself, right? When I do that it often produces clicks - but it depends how fast you retrigger and what the decay of the sound is like, I find. Those clicks are one of the really annoying things about the two samplers in Gadget. But you really got away with it there!
