Toc&roll - How to start music with a kid
Hi all,
Just learned some friends of mine developed some time ago a music app called Toc and Roll (
https://appsto.re/es/g5xnV.i ) so kids could get started in music creation in a very intuitive way. This app was just another part of their core business that is basically approaching music to kids ( they organize shows with bands, make CD's, workshops, etc...). As both developers are musicians they took care that the samples included were high quality.
I was just wondering if any of you have kids and if people like you would be target for this kind of app. Would this be something you would have any interest?
Before somebody asks, it does not have Ableton link, Audiobus or IAA support... Just an app to let kids experiment creating their songs in a simple way!

I'm curious how do they play the instruments or input the notes? I feel like that would be a key element to get right for kids.
I've used it with my son. It's a fairly traditional sequencer, in which you arrange/layer blocks of pre-recorded instrument passages on a timeline. We used it recently to make the backing track to a stop motion video for my wife's birthday. Turned out well. Export options are limited, but I was able to pull the music out of YouTube and adjust it in iMovie to the video part.
The design is nice, the clips are well recorded as you said and have good variety while still all working together. I like that it shows the waveforms, too. I'd recommend it for introducing kids to song building and simple projects like the one we did.
