different drummer? where to start?
some days this app hurts my brain. I keep trying coming back to it but always get frustrated at the workflow. I never know where to start. how do I start a new file/session or whatever it is called in this app?Or Int. patch?
I feel like that is a very important part of any app is to have a starting point to go back to when things get to complicated. Any body have any ideas?

You can make multiple snapshots as you go along. Probably the best bet, as you say, it's easy to lose track and sometimes hard to get back to where you was comfortably making progress.
Press the icon under the pause button, and pick an option. To change all tracks first select the 9th wave to apply global changes. You can save for recall later.
cool, thanks for the picture to. I am determined I am going do figure this app out eventually
Read the manual and check out Russell Bradley's vids on YouTube,it's not that difficult to master.
Gride mode is not exactly an init state but i found it easier to use that to get started
Start simple.
Use one track only, (mute and put the other 7 tracks blank).
Now experiment with different settings and samples. You can use even a loop or any kind of sample, (but if you use a loop, try to make [one bar loop] match the tempo).
Experiment with all the tools available, and there are plenty, but don't think of DD as a "conventional" drum machine, because it's NOT. (At least not for me)
If I asked you to make a particular rhythm, slightly syncopated, you will spend a week on getting it right, and I wonder if you would.
DD is more of an experimental drum machine-synthesiser capable of making beats and melodies at the same time, experimental and original and different...
Also I prefer my own samples, but that's up to you.
It really is one of the most ingenious apps on iOS...
Some good advise already offered. Definitely agree with @soundklinik on starting with a single track. I use midi most often, rather than custom samples, but the latest rev added multi out, so that's going to make custom and factory samples more interesting.
Another suggestion is to download from the community and study those.
My videos are a bit dated, but here are a couple that might help...
thanks for the pic, I'm definatly a visual thinker, and that helps a ton
