DRC PDF Manual

I put this PDF manual together for DRC Synth, based on their online one. It just covers the basics. Even though DRC is a pretty straightforward synth, there are some nuances worth noting.

  • Great job, thanks.

DRC features one of the best VA synth engines I've come across on ANY system B)

  • The layout of DRC is very similar to the bass station II. Both have 2 oscillators, a sub oscillator, ring mod and noise as sources. They also both have 2 envelopes and 2 lfos. Any tutorial videos for the bass station 2 will be very useful for DRC owners.

  • Thanks, @1P18. Very useful.

    Ditto, thanks!

  • Thanks, OP. I don't own DRC, but I'm always happy to see community shares like this.

  • We are working on a solution to make available a constantly updated version of DRC manual in pdf and online formats. There will be news during the next couple couple of months. It is really interesting to see this kind of initiatives. Well done @1P18!

By the way... DRC is currently with 40% discount. Until tomorrow only! Grab it while you can! ;)

  • Many users here have asked for downloadable manual. I have been thinking in this problem and I have found a nice answer too it. I have found a way of keeping the manual updated, online and downloadable at the same time. Plus, it is collaborative. So the ones who think that can contribute, they can submit changes to review. We haven't finished yet, we I will provide the link so you can have an idea of what is going on:

Please let me know what you think.

Cool. You might want to add a title page so that when a user downloads the PDF and saves to iBooks, there will be a title page with DRC manual written on it so you can easily identify it in your iBooks library.

I think gitbook allows to make a cover. Still digging into details! Please share any thoughts about the content as well as undocumented parts.

  • @sinosoidal Having just read through the online manual, one thing that should be added that's not there, is info regarding the chord playing surface. It took me forever to realize those #s on the right were for octave up and down. Also, sometimes those numbers jump two octaves in either direction with one button press and you have to press in the opposite direction to dial it back to the preferred octave.

    Alright! Thanks for your feedback.

  • You could also add a page on wavefolding and waveshaping and modulatable rectification. Of course, the app itself would have to be updated to match this new documentation.
