Logitech charger for iPad Pro. (Uses smart connection)
Has anyone tried one of these? Looks like another way to keep the iPad Pro charged up without losing the Lightning connector.

Cough cough £90 cough........
That's what I thought too. But if it's any good I will keep an eye out for 2nd hand.
I just managed to get a used iPad Pro 12.9 inch 128gb and pencil and Apple Smart Keyboard all for £520 so I'm a happy shopper.
Good deal, well done.
It takes seven hours to charge the 12.9 iPad and five hours to charge the 9.7 iPad so it's not really ideal, the battery will probably start decreasing if you use this at the same time you're using music apps and with the screen at full brightness. The Lightning to USB 3 adapter it's a better solution.
Is apple's 29w charger insufficient?
It doesn't work with the logi base I think, it will charge the 12.9 iPad the slow way.
That Logitech device puts out 5V - that is not going to do a fast charge, just normal charge.
Depends on the mA.
Are you sure? What is this:

Of course, the iPad Pro 12.9 plugged directly to the 29 watt charger will charge the iPad super fast (I know, I have both) but the 29 watt charger connected to the Logitech base connected to the iPad Pro 12.9 through the smart connector will not do anything special, it will charge the iPad slowly. It will not take advantage of the fast charge capabilities.
Disappointing. (though I'm not interested in that base).
What is the technical explanation?
I think it's something to do with the USBC to lightning cable.
I don't think anyone's knows for certain as the specifications of the smart connector are not known. This comes from personal experience
(a friend has one) and then reading the reviews that confirmed this is expected behavior.
USB-C Power Delivery specification starts at 5V2A, and between the four mirrored Vbus pins, the facing pairs of CC1/CC2 SBU2/SBU1 pins negotiate stepping up through five 'profiles' of whether it can go up to 12V1.5A, 12V3A all the way up to 20V5A. The MacBook 29A charger is more than likely profile 3, which allows 12V3A.
yes. big upgrade from the 12 watt
i just went to lockn music fest and lost the damn foldable ac prong to the 29 watt usb c charger. does anyone know where to buy a certified apple part?
